Husqvarna FE 501

Hello everyone,

I'm in the process of putting a parts list together to make my 501 into a snow bike. My question is; do I need a Therm-o-Bob for my bike? It already has a thermostat and a fan?

Any more info would be much appreciated.

I ride an FE501 on a Snowtech. No thermobob needed so far, the KTM unit works fine with the fan.

Moto 365 should carry engine blankets I believe. I will probably get one for next winter to keep temps consistent.

Call Cyclops Adventuresports and get the LED headlight bulb and heated grips from Darryl. Being able to see and riding with nice warm hands with moto gloves is amazing when it is cold and dark out.

If you don't have protection, get radiator guards and skid plate (Bulletproof Designs) and hand guards (Fastway), and Header Pipe Guard (Flatland Racing), and an FMF Factory 4.1 pipe from Penco Power Products. Ask for Chelaine or Brock.

For suspension Call Toby Till (720) 263-7533 and order some heavier springs for your forks. He will know what to get. In a pinch you can cut 1-1.25" lengths of sch40 pipe to use as preload spacers under your stock fork springs.

I have the FMF 4.1 muffler with carbon tip.
I have the Austria map in it.
I have Fastway hand guards.
I have the 2" Fastway risers.

My plan is;

Seat Concepts comfort seat
Fastway adventure pegs
AME heated grips
Trail Tech temp guage
Radiator braces (undecided)
Neoprene fork Protectors
Penetrator LED 630 Lamp
P3 heat shield
Tugger straps

And fork springs
