Husaberg FE 501 "EURO MAP"

Anyone have luck getting the euro map put on the Husaberg 501? I've called a few dealers and they indicate that their program will not allow updates on the Husaberg ECU.

Waiting on a call back from Best Dual Sport Bikes - Magic Mod might be the way to go if I can't get this done. But was hoping for the quick n easy update.

I don't think you need to do that on the Husaberg 501 only the KTM EXC models need the Euro mapping because of emissions crap. All the Husabergs have the same map already. That's what I have been lead to believe anyway.

A couple of my buddies run the KTM 500 XCW and they had the euro map put on.

I have called several dealers and researched quite a bit...can't find any legit answers. Seems as though nobody has a clue about the programming on the bergs - although it appears different than the KTM 500 XCW stock programming.

Try calling Trail Tech. They make map switches which require the EU mapping to work. My guess is, you simply install the KTM EU mapping.

The 501 and xcw require the competition map. Dealer should be able to do for an offroad bike. The exc requires a euro map and dealers are less enthusiastic about putting it on due to those bikes being road legal.

Mapping change on 501 berg [2013]

I too tryed to get dealer to change mapping on my 501. They told me it was locked . They say they can't get unlock code, however they said they can change mapping on the 500 xcw. ?????? go figure! So I just ordered the dobeck controler instead.

I heard the same thing. Ironically the ecu is the same damn part so perhaps try a ktm dealer?

Yeah, I initially looked up the part # on the ECUs and they are the same, so what the heck! I've talked to several KTM/Husaberg dealers including the one here in Bozeman, Dave Russells in Spokane and another in CO and another out east. None of them will touch the Husaberg ECU.

Looks like the 'Magic Mod' is an option. Talked with them and they have successfully modded a couple 501s recently.

My dealer sells both Husaberg and ktm. I think they said it has something to do with the software costs to the dealer. They have to pay for the program to change mapping on each brand , and they sell way more KTM's than Bergs. ? Not sure about that. It is a interesting thought....Buy the KTM ecm and then change mapping. Stange problem since they are both owned by KTM.

I had the "European competition mapping" installed on my 2013 FE 501 by Valley Motosports in Kelowna along with a FMF/KTM muffler. It is noticebaly stronger than other KTM 500's or FE 501's in our riding group

Good news. Picking up my 14 fe 501 Saturday. I already had them install the competition open exhaust map which supposed to except the switch with just plugging it in. Mild stock and wild settings. Fingers crossed!

Who applied the map for you?

Experience power sports in Moses Lake, Wa. Tasky's in Everett WA said they could do it too. Picking the bike up at 9am tomorrow. Pretty stoked! Dealer said the map loaded up with no issue. The installed the switch too.

I originally had mine remapped to help cure a terrible flaming out issue. It helped for the most part, but still happens.
