Hunting Crowsnest Area

All you city guys coming down here need to start following the rules a regs. Get off your lazy asses. Quads are to be parked 1 hour before sunrise, and aren't to be moved again until noon. The next one of you guys on a quad that screws me out of an elk when you aren't supposed be on it, is getting a .338 mag round through the engine block.
Go play rambo on the road with all your buddies.

Ive had the same problem this year. I was north of coleman and seems like everyone but me was not following the rules. I think people can drive back to camp with gun and ammo in separate locked cases direct route to and from a remote camp on a road that trucks can drive down. Granted the guys i seen all had guns slug over shoulders checking cut blocks. They didnt spoil any hunt on me but sure peed me off when in sweating after 10km of walking and they are laughing. No i didnt get a plate# i was too much in awe of their stupidity. Can wait for snow back there to get sledding again.
cheers.

No those changes don't apply down here, had my day ruined twice allready due to that and another one where some guys came into where i was and started shooting in the air. I would like to see some sort of limit imposed on the amount of tags that can be sold to out of towners, the way things currently are is going to ruin it in the long run. 6 point or better should be rule for elk too.
Way too many people coming down here and having stuff like this happening everyday makes me wonder if some burried spike strips would be a good idea on some of the trails.
Not nice to think that way I know but it's getting ridiculous.

Ya, definately not a good idea to take it into your own hands. But if you see some illegal activities, dont hesitate to call the Report a Poacher line

It would be impossible to subscribe only so many "out of towners" tags since the smallest area that people are designated is into a "resident".

But, I do see where your coming from. Everyone has the right to an equal chance to apply for tags though. People that you describe really ruin it for ethical hunters for sure.

Do those rules apply to guys only quadding/sledding/biking and not hunting? Are they supposed to keep their engines off till noon too? Not that I plan on starting too early.

Only applys to those with guns or bows.

so your threatening to shoot the next guy who scares your kill off.

someone started shooting in the air to scare the **** outta someone??

and your also threatining to build spike belts to wreck peoples quads.

WOW.

Think before you open your mouth ! I never threatened anyone.
I may have inferred I would start imobilizing quads, when ppl aren't playing by the rules wich is fair in my mind.

Go back and read my first post very slowly so U don't get confused again.

If you wanna hunt on quad do it by the rule book, I have no problem with guys out just riding around.

Guys, the thing we have to focus on is that we are all able to use this crown land the way we want. thats great, lets not argue and have to get others involved that will make the decision for us. after all the decisions are usually to ban some activity or land user. If this happens only the tree huggers win.

Really you guys are just having snow withdrawls.

Are you sure it was some "foreigner"? or did you just see one Alberta license plate and lump us all in with the rest of them?

Why rant on here and make the rest of us "City Guys" appear guilty by association? Why not approach them and inform them of the rules? Most of the users here are responsible.

FYI, I don't hunt, I am from Southeastern BC originally, and have found that most of us "city guys" follow the rules.
