HP3 Turbo Apex

E

Extreme-One

Well-known member
A friend just got his sled back from Brad Story after an extensive buildup of a 40th Anniversary Apex. Complete propane system with Vanamberg tunnel, EZ ride rear suspension, camo extreme track, custom seat, Simmons gen II skis and a few engine mods to handle the estimated 420+ hp. He's going out on his madden voyage this weekend.

Hope to get a few more pictures of the sled on the snow. It's going in on Monday for a custom paint job with some air brushing. :face-icon-small-coo

Each tank holds 4 gallons of propane. The way it is set up you can drop the third tank on the rear if you like and just run with the ones under the seat. Brad said to estimated 80-120 miles depending on snow conditions, climbing and boondocking.

I'm just guessing but I figure that is farther then a lot of guys running on race gas in the same conditions.

I spelled it backwards but that sled is on par with Darko's nitro. Totally Sic. It would give me a heart attack to see that roll down the mountain, custom paint or not. I guess for some it's only money. Snoboner your in that club Mr. 2turbo's. :)

Depends on what you do with the propane system and any extras but I know it's not cheap. I think the system starts in the 10 grand range and goes up from there... I know this one was considerably more then that with all the tunnel, suspension, track and engine upgrades.

The one I saw in IP last saturday had one large tank under the seat and then one on the tunnel the same as above. Also, it was blue with a polished tunnel so there must be more kicking around than I thought.

The guy that owns this one said it is incredible to ride. He was in 2 - 3 feet of new snow and was breaking it in at 14 psi and nothing stopped it. He now has about 200 miles on it and the next time out he plans on goint to 20-22 psi and leave it there for a while. It is getting painted this week so we'll have more pictures to follow.
