How's the ride around Sun Peaks?

Just like the title say's, I'm curious how the riding is around Sun Peaks. I'm not concerned about the snow conditions, more, what the terrain is like, but if someone wants to give a snow report, that's cool too. Thanks in advance for any replies, Chrispy

Hmmm, that good huh? Does or has anyone ridden there in the Kamloops area or is there a lot better places to ride? The reason I'm asking is my friend owns a chalet there and it would be free accomidations for me if I wanted to make a trip there. Throw me a fricken bone people.

our group is planning a ride there this year. I found some info on the web about the riding right behind the resort. Lots of meadows and such. The Backroads Mapbook for the region shows snowmobile trails in the area. Try Shultz Motosports in Kamloops for more info

Sunpeaks has stuff for all kinds, we did a group trip last year one day with the ladies and they had a great time. All groomed trails around the mountain lots of meadows and open clearcuts to play in.

Day two the ladies went to the spa and we took our turbos up on top and had a great time. If you follow the trail all the way around the back side you'll find a couple trails that go up through the tree's and take you into the alpine. Nothing huge to climb but big enough to bring on the boost. The ski hill monitors the snow conditions for avalanches as it is in there best interests because it's there back yard. Parking lot is above the farthest village at the end of the paved road.(3 min drive from our condo)

it used to be a real pain to get up to the alpine. the worst trail i've ever ridden. i havn't been there for a couple years, but some friends say that they did a bunch of logging that really opened up the access. chances are that you will run into a bunch of pissed off skiers if you try going up there. screw em. if they say that they are gonna call ski patrol tell them, its a good thing cuz you want to report a bunch of reckless skiers outside of the ski area boundry. and if you do see the ski patrol, don't let them give you any sh*t. their sleds probably can't go where yours can.
