How's the 2010 M8 doing in the Hill's?

Haven't heard much on comparison's. Is the M8 king of the hill this year? Who's got buddies with XP's and dragons. What conditions (climbing) are they good or bad in. Interested to hear if the extra HP has helped in that department. No opinions wanted, just honest facts when you've been out.

I ride a 2009 m8, but in my group we have 1 2010 M8 153, and 2 XP 163's. Every time we find a hill, its the 2010 M8 that is breaking through the top first! The guy that owns the 2010 is just a first year rider too, and the two guys on the xp's are definately no beginners at all! In an all honest opinion, I think that Cat is the king of the hill!

We had a pretty good comparison between the doo and the m8 at the snowies back in Jan. The 2 new polaris' we were riding with were too busy being towed back to join in. :face-icon-small-sho

wyrider was on his 153" m8 (stock except for a can) and was playing on a hill with our friend on his 900 166" polaris (not stock). The conditions were some packed and some good powder towards the top of the hill. A guy came over on a xp 163" and joined in, they seemed to be quite fairly matched riders. The doo was slightly ahead of the poo and even though wyrider had the shortest track he still was able to have the highmark in every run.

My 2010 M8 is an absloute blast. It has worked very well and impressed me in every aspect.

Snowest Powder Challenge

That should be out soon wounder how that will fare.

The new 2010 m8,s Rock.

I lined up my '10 M8 SP 162 with a '10 XP X package 155 (or whatever 15x they come in) last weekend. There was probably a foot of new snow on top of a soft base. We climbed a long, subtle slope, untracked the whole way. He beat me by 2 or 3 sled lengths. My sled is/was not fully broken in yet, probably only had 50 miles on it at the time. His sled was pretty new too with probably less than 200 miles on it.

Even if those results stay the same after my sled is broken in I'm completely fine with that. The way the M8 handles in the mountains is so good that I'm ok with not winning the highmark competition every day.

My 2010 M8HOSP is by far the sweetest sled I have ever ran in the mountains. I could not believe the effortless ride that I was on this past weekend. We have found that nothing can touch it here in Alaska; reliable, dominating, responsive, it's almost unfair to the competition.

The King?

Happy to hear everyone's happy with the new sleds. I'm still on a powerclawed 05 M7. Been very impressed with it.... the XP's in our group don't seem to have much or anything on it. Hard to say for sure cause I've been having trouble with my primary spider rollers. But thanks to Steff @ Mountain Magic with a great priice on a new primary....we'll see what happens. Hoping to get into a 2010 next season.

Dfin?

So was this a race to the top kind of thing or a highmark? One thing I've noticed with at least the older M's, they aren't the fastest up the hill but somehow that doesn't mean anything when your highmarking!

Not a highmark. It was a long pull up a pretty mellow slope, first to the top wins.

hm

i consistanlty stomp xp's i come across but i would say that i have a serious advantage as a rider, (being 130 pounds and rode all my life)
my sled is dialed in though! not any mods except bdx rollers, bdx anti stab, mbrp can, and iceage rails... so nothing too crazy.
but with all the bs aside i have yet to see an xp pull me anywhere, and i have rode with several.

i raced a 2010 xp across the lake the other day it was a shorter track xp with the new motor, i expected his short track to spank me, but i consistantly pulled him in the space we had to race across the lake.

im not a bser either if any sled pulls me ill give it props! this new motor is the real deal, expecially once they open up at 400-500 miles!

Yep I weigh 150lbs, I am lighter than most guys and it makes a huge difference. When everyone wants to see what their sled can do they have me ride it up the hill.
