how to set the sag on a 04 159

how much sag should there be in a 04 vertical edge ? we put new torsion springs in (the heavier set) and it still sags really easy for about 6 inches then gets stiff or normal compared to other sleds i ve had? is this normal for this machine? the torsion blocks are cranked to the max as well. the skid is in the furthest back hole in the front of the tunnel and the secound back in the back or the tunnel. Any help would be great

Worn out shock won't affect sag in, they don't have enough pressure in them to offset much sag at all.

I would measure a stock sled and make sure your center to center on the mount locations is correct, sounds like you've moved the front mount back some is that right?

bad shocks will make it sag

sorry you our wrong here! they can definitely make the suspension sag if bad.

Yea, ok, whatever.

Pull the shock. If you have to lean on it to compress it then it isn't bad and don't waste your money rebuilding it.

Again, make sure you have the rear mount correct. If it is not possitioned correctly in relation to the front rear mount you will affect the leverage and thus the spring rate in the rear end and cause too much sag.

I just had to replace my rear track shock on my '05 159'' Edge because my sled was sagging BAD with no weight on it. (Besides the crappy ride and bottoming out) Rear shock was junk. I took it off and compressed it and it would not push back out. (I had to pull it pretty hard). My springs are also set as stiff as they can be. Threw on a new walker evans and went riding saturday and it is smooth as can be. Just curious, how many miles do you have on it? Factory shock?
