How to safely clean oil from engine?

I had 2-stroke oil leaking from a power valve and it has made a pretty good mess of the engine bay. The majority of the oil is at the bottom but some of it ran down on the block too. Its really sticky and isn't coming off easily. Is there a safe way to clean it up? I have engine degreaser (Gunk) that you spray on then rinse off with a hose. Not sure if this would damage anything on the sled though?

gunk should be fine. i use purple power works good spray on let it sit rinse off. napa has it.
