how to keep it reliable

Put a vented oil cap on (ski-doo xps)and check oil ratio. Chuck the polaris one. Want to be 40:1 or so and adjust pump accordingly. I personally would put rktek or wiseco pistons if you don't have warranty.

Don't mess with small orifice vented caps, get a tank vent. Change the fuel filter regularly, turn up the oil pump if it isn't 40-50/1, run good clean ethanol free fuel always!

I put in bikeman pistons, added a vented oil cap, turned the pump up, add a splash of oil to the gas and always let it warm up. I've had zero issues

Keep it stock, let it warm up very good. Ride it very easy the first few miles to let everything heat soak and the belt to warm up. Just make sure it uses the correct amount of oil, some do, some apparently don't. All of mine use around 40:1 from the factory. Then the basics like mentioned, keep clutches clean grease chassis at least once a season. Then keep it clean inside and out this will force you to see things that may not look the same or potential problems. I look mine over from front to back after every ride to look for worn parts or issues like rubbing wires, hoses, etc. :face-icon-small-win

ok. already got a vented oil cap. and i always let it warm up before use, i do some calm trail riding before hitting the mountains :)

i will turn the oil up. i have noticed it using too little oil. going too go with 3 turns on the pump and then check. is it just to have a full tank of gas and a mark on oil level?, but what to do with the numbers ? lets say i use 25 liters of fuel and 0.5 liters of oil it will be 50:1?.

so it should use 40:1 so a little over a litre of oil per tank since the tank takes 42-45 litres ? hopefully someone of you guys understand metric :D

Yup, 1L per tank would be a good spot to be at. It will vary according to the riding and throttle used for that particular ride. Have to average a few rides to get rather accurate numbers.

good maintenance + grease +oil + clutch service =:face-icon-small-hap
i've gotta second the plates easy install not too expensive
could save you serious damage and down time later

how many miles ?

Take them to a machine shop & get them balanced, less stress on the crank & crank bearings. Kind of like when they balance your wheels when getting your tires changed. The vibration in your primary could be caused from a number of things primary spring binds, broken primary spring, clutch weights might be sticking.
