The primary spring squeezes the belt, the ramps move, your sled creates boost at idle and you should go trackstand tune so it's setup for your mods. Be sure to remove the rollers since they are not needed, after all the primary spring will grip the belt.
Hmmm maybe just maybe if i add arms/rollers to my Polaris i won't need a primary spring either.

Not sure where the heck you'd mount them or what you'd use them for in a P85 but be my guest.
So if i remove my primary spring from my P85 will i get the highmark over my buddy's ?

You guys are all wrong, ported drive belts is where it's at.
I ported my belt cover the other night. Previous dyno runs resulted in a 2mph gain.

i drilled 1/4" holes 1" on center down the center of my belt, and it greatly decrease clutch temps. works great, recomend it.
AND i bolted a model airplane prop underneath my primary clutch bolt, that sucker pushes some mad air across the clutches, really makes the vents worth it....

No point in porting the belt cover/chaincase/drive belt without porting the gas tank as well. The results are very significant when the porting mods are completed together, the biggest gain is the weight loss from the ported tank.
If yah want the highmark over your buddies buy a yamaha and run more boost.
