How to get a sled home with no track?

Friend of mine insists his track is fine, but it looks to me like it's starting to crack on the edge where a lug got torn off and i'm concerned it will come apart. What happens if there is a crack? Will the whole thing split and if it does how do you pull it home, just let it slide on the hifaxes?

If the track does rip off the sled turn it around and put theback of sled on the back of anothesled and tie it down good and ride out or get a old toboggan and put it under the skid and then pull it out.

pre drill some 1/8" holes thru the track all the way across on each side of the ripped area(so the holes have a crossbar between them and the rip on each side) then use mechanics wire to sew the track back togeather after loosing up the adjusters...then retighten and ride out(if you do it right it will drive out under its own power no problem)......

been there....done that. Worked good but I had to ride out slowly!

Sweet, finally another South Park character, now I'm not the only one!

You can pull it out on the hifax, you just have to watch them downhill runs, hook another sled to the back if you have to.

After having a diamond drive lock up on me, and also having my track cut in half on a small stump, I now carry a piece of plastic that is long enough and wide enough to fit under the track. I've got some twine that if it happens again I'll put the plastic under the track and punch holes in the side of it and run the twin thru them and to the other side thru the suspension to hold it in place, and tow it out. I've done it before but now I ride prepared to do it, just in case.

A crack on the edge is nothing just ride it out easy and you will have no problems . If it's tore really bad then some of the ideas listed are good, Nylon strap wrapped througfh the widdows worked for me with a trac half torn in 2 If you have a climb out of a hole get as much spped as possible without hammering it on the hill.

Ride it as far as you can. The track is already junk. Put it on a plastic sled and pull it out, or turn it around and stack the back on another sled. Make sure you turn the skis around backwards if you do this.

I had one break in half on me. Pulled it out on the rails did good but made going up hills kinda hard.

just put the tunnel on another sled tie it down good you can even turn the skies around and pull it out with no problem.that way they wont dig in when being pulled backwards.
