i have an 07 d7 with a broken steering shaft and i was looking for some tips on how to replace it. i have heard you have to take a motor mount bolt out? do you access that through the belly pan? any tips would be greatly appreciated!

where is it broken?
If it's broken at the top, under the steering hoop support, you dont need to remove it from the sled to fix.
We removed the plastic shroud, unbolted the bars, protected all of the wiring, and inserted some solid stock into the steering post and welded it back up. 2 seasons on the fix and no issues.

looks like that had already been done. i ordered a new one, have no access to a welder and would like to install the new one.
You need to remove the airbox and the throttle bodies. Next, you need to get a set of crow's feet wrenches and it is really easy to remove and reinstall the post w/o messing with the motor.
