How to, Burp the coolant system?

2004 1M 900 rebuilt top end and after adding coolant I'm not getting any heat at the rear cooler, I've been checking the temps with my infrared thermometer. 140deg@ the heads, 54deg@ the cooler.
I've picked up the front with a forklift while running and not running with no luck. Any great ideas?

Take out the thrermostate and fill it through there, then put it together and raise it up. That way you know you have coolant to the water pump to get it circulating.

Raise the front of the sled. Slip a long flat blade screwdriver between the coolant exit hose and the thermostat housing, without the hose clamp in place clamping the hose. This gives the air some place to go. Fill the bottle with anti freeze till the bottle is 90% full or anti freeze runs out around the screwdriver.
Pull the screwdriver, put the hose clamp and bottle cap on, fire it off, feel the rear cooler for heat. If no heat after 2-3 minutes repeat till circulation occurs.
This has always worked.

I have always took the hose off at the thermostat and filled the coolant system through that hose. Never had a bubble issue.

pick up the sled, put it over your shoulder and pat its back...works everytime, make sure you have a rag, could get messy

Warm it up with the cap off and.....

the front of the sled raised above the back about a foot.

I tried that with no luck!!

I got it by pumping the hoses I could easily get at with my hands and after running a couple minutes it started cycling all the way.
Thanks for all the good idea I'll try some of them next time.
