How Stiff Is Too Stiff For M Series Sleds

I was messing around with my 06 xf 600 that I got this summer, just cleaning it up and adding a riser and stuff, when I noticed that even when i sit down pretty hard on the seat the rear suspension doesn't give hardly at all. I weigh about 200 lbs and the sled was sitting on a garage floor with nothing under it but concrete. It does have oles extensions and a 144x2 track on it. I noticed the front shock in the skid is as stiff as it can be but how do you adjust the very rear of the skid. I feel like a total noob for posting this but i really just want some responses instead of just messing with it and getting a bad result. thanks

The front shock there should be a coller the spring sits in you can turn it one way or the other to make it stiffer, the further up the shock body the coller that the spring sits in the stiffer the spring is set. For the rear torsion springs i think you only have 3 adjustments. If you look were the short part of the spring rest on a triangle piece of plastic, thats the piece you have to turn to adjust your rear spring, i think you just put a socket on it to turn it. Really its pretty simple. If that doesn't give you enough adjustment you can get different springs.

right now the front spring is as far up as it can go. does that affect the very rear of the skid at all? the limiter straps are all the way out also. the little triangle blocks are on the thinest side of the blocks, does that mean softest? thanks

Sounds like somebody really had that skid adjusted poorly! turn the front skid shock ring down so you have about 1 1/4" of thread showing. If you rear still does not settle when you sit on it you will have to revalve the rear shock. Your rear springs are on the lightest setting. I've seen the shocks that are valved for way too much resistance to start with. It should drop about 3"

m sleds ride like a covered wagon on a rocky trail:)
diggerdown has your fix.

Is the adjustment that you guys speak of the same as an 05 M7? When I sit on my seat right now, the sled drops all the way....probably a drop of closer to 6" I'm guessing.

how big of a guy are you? if your around 200 it should drop 3-4. I checked mine out a little closer and my triangle blocks were set at the middle setting so i put mine back to soft and now it is much better. oh and yes the m's are the same

I'm about 200, but probably closer to 210 with my gear on. I have my "trianlgle block" turn to it's highest point right now and it didn't seem to change it much if any. I'm leaning towards my rear shocks being totally shot.
