how much weight are you running in your pro?

Just wondering how much weight peoplw are running in their pros? I am going to try 64 grams, up 2 grams over stock. I ride 4-7000 ft

I am running at 6000 to 8000 feet in elevation and running the 62 gram belly busters. Usually running aroun 8100 to 8200 RPM's. Last week I tried a set of custom weights, 10-62's with a bit of the tip weight taken off and weight added back to the center (belly) to bring them back up to 66.5 grams total weight. Had a lot of torque...too much for the snow conditions then cause it would just spin so easily with a little throttle input, but could probably be real interesting in the wet Hero snow...it would still tack up to 7850 to 7900 RPM's consistently.

Put an HPS can on, and delrin washers on the secondary a ride ago, had 62's in and it ran 8250ish at 6 to 8000 ft. Tried the polaris 64's today at 5 to 6000 and temps below and above zero. It still ran 82 to 8250. The tech at the dealership told me the rep from polaris said the pros have the most power at 79 to 8100??? Liked the feel of the 64's so far but still not getting all their is to get. Pulled a little harder on top though.

What is going on with my pro then, because I ride at 6-9000ft with 62's in and it only revs 7850 on a pull. I get to lower elevation and then it pulls maybe 8000 to 8100. Might I need a delrin washer? Or grind my 62's to 61's?

delrins supposedly help hold higher rpms so they don't drop off as easily and shift a little smoother, and can is said to add a little rpm though it didn't seem to on mine. I put the can on and rode then the washers and 64 weights together and rode. The washers are a must in my experiences on the team. They especially were on the older team clutches. If I understand right they say you should put 2 on the helix side of the spring and one on the the other side (or outside as you sit on the sled).

False. Delrins help prevent the spring from binding and can's only reduce weight and make a lot of noise.

Im at 60 grams and next stiffer secondary spring @ 7,500-9,000ft. I weigh 230lbs. Holds 8100-8250 well under heavy load conditions.

Had stock 62's pulled harder on the trail but would not hold rpm's well climbing under heavy loads.

Hi. I ride just up the road from you - Hunters Range, Sicamous, Revy. I have a 163 Pro with about 1200 miles on it.
Current setup is: 19:43 gearing.
Challenger Extreme 2.5".
SLP blue/pink primary with stock 62 gm.
60/40 helix with Polaris black/purple spring & 2 delrins under
the spring cup.
Pulls 82-8300 rpm consistently. Tried Polaris 64gm, but dropped rpm too much. I feel that it definitely pulls better at 8200+.
I'm wanting to try my MTX weights, but had to order some more rivets. Hopefully will try within the next week and let you know the results.

I ride mostly Sicamous, I am holding rpms eaxactly as you are, Basically same setup 163" 2.5 CE and 19:43 gears. Great running sled considering very few changes have been made. Guys are telling me that the 64s pull harder and still hold well to 7000' I am going to try them and see for myself. evem they are too much I will keep them for some more HP is available. Thanks

Sealevel to 3000ft, 155"

Was running 66gr poo weights, but would cut out often. Now running SP 69gr weights and it is much better but I lost some rpm on a speed pull on a lake.

Believe I need less weight and secondary changes, steeper initial angle and a step up on the spring.

Will be going with a secondary setup from FTX and mess further with weights.

this sled sorta stock (my track mod) with Carl's Clutching/Fox suspension

6250 ft 23*
rider 165 plus gear
62grams BB weights over reving at 8400 rpm
running poorly tuned as such it's still 10 sled lengths faster then Shane Kelley's Free Ride:D

he's busy down in californicator land putting in a super secret secondary because he's SO tired of being peppered by polaris snowballs....if it appears that he has gotten faster, higher, further I'll then quit being lazy and put in the proper weight at 63gr for this sled run 8100 like it's supposed to...and continue my total all terrrain dominance! Boy I hope I don't have to lift up my scratchers...that is so much work. BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP

155 Pro, Stock, running 10-60 @ ele of 8000-10000' RPM's are at 8300 down around 8000' and 8100rpm around 10000'
Here at Home in Michigan, I run 10-68, with RPM's in the 8100 Range at 900' ele.

Primary
10-66g Polaris weights
SLP Blue/Pink 140/340 Spring
Secondary
Polaris Black/Purple Spring
60/42/.36 Helix
2 derlins, one on each side of spring

Rider weight-230lb
Elevation 0-3000ft
Rpms-8250rpms and no more overtach.

A steeper intial angle and a heavier weight spring made the biggest difference. It seems to respond well and backshifts great. I tried 68g weights and it was a little sluggish on mid and top so I went back to 66s and I love it now. I am also running a Ulitimax XS809 belt due to blowing two 115's in less than 300 miles. I have about 200 miles now on the 809 and it looks way better with no signs of cords and doesn't seem to slip as much as the 115 did. The 115 would glaze in one ride and I would have to scrub it after every ride...Hope this helps

Added the slp air intake and gutted the upper air box inside the hood. Was up as high as 8000 today. Hard pulls all day long with deep snow in a hidden area that was untracked so far this year. Left the 64's in and all other clutch parts still stock. Still held the rpms as high as 8250 at the highest points. Surprised.
