How much track does a big wheel kit eat up?

I have a 144 Expert-X setup to run a 144 track. It's got the stock rear axle and little 165mm wheels. Setting back the skid is not an option at this point. If I run a big wheel axle turned around(PE style) with 8" wheels, do you think I can make a 150" track work?

Depends on the big wheel kit. Some come with adjustable rails. Wheels alone I don't think so. You would have to move the skid back. I just put a big wheel kit on my 159, barely made a difference as far as track length on the ground.

You flip the old PE axles around backwards to run a longer track, I'm just not sure how much longer you can go.

Why can't you set skid back?????? it would only be 1 1/4"

I'm not sure with PE set up, but with the 2 wheel offset axle kit we sell it works well. (you can click on my website in sig. line)

Axle takes up 1 1/4 inches and going from a 7 1/4 inch stock wheel to a 9 inch wheel takes up another 1/2 inch.
So in total you have taken up 1 3/4 inches of the 3 inches differance between 150 and 144. You then only need 1 1/4 of threaded adjuster bolt;)
