How much gas do I have?

I cant tell how much fuel I have left in my 06 summit x. Does everyone carry gas cans for this reason? I was shaking my trailer around in the garage and could barely see the fuel line? Whats the best way to gauge what you have and how far you can go?

have to be in the right light..but the shake trick works for me most the time.

also, there are marks on the sides of the tank, mark those w/ black marker.

theres actually quite a bit of fuel left when your on the bottom line, due to the length of the Rev fuel tank.

Mine has the red vinyl over the sides of the tank. I have to open the clutch side faring to see the front of the tank. It looks like the body of the tank might go below what can be seen in the engine bay.

I have a 2005 summitx and what i did was took that silly vinyl cover competly off of the tank made seeing how much was in the tank wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy easier.

Quite a few owners of the Rev X machines cut off the vinyl to expose the clear tank. It is a simple job that takes less than a minute.

Instructions: Get a knife, cut elastic straps that go under the seat and tank. Rip the cover off. Have a beer;.

There are fuel level markers on the tank. I have had friends that have gone as far as pulling all the fuel out and then pouring it back in gallon by gallon and making marks with a sharpie on the side of the tank.

Fuel capacity is 10.6 gallons.

I may try adding fuel in 1 gal at a time because I kinda like the red vinyl

couldn't you add an electronic gage? they aren't that much and they seem to work pretty well. i think the add on ones for the rev chassis are better than the one's that came on my 08.

yeah it's really easy! no need to pay money for a gauge useless when you can see it with your eye, It never lie's!
