How much for powder coating?

Looking to powder coat the front and rear suspension pieces....wondering how much you guys have been paying to get a rough idea when I get estimates...front a arms, spindles, shock coils, rear rails, etc...

thanks

the most frequent question I got was "are the parts coming to me raw metal or do I have to blast paint off of them?"

I got quoted about $400 to blast my a-arms and suspension arms, and powder my arms, rails, spindles. Sounded like it would be about half if I brought them in bare.

Where in MN are you located?

Chad

ohhh ok. I would prolly have them sandblast them and powder coat them. I got a small sandblaster at the farm but I run a busy schedule. The farm is in central mn and I live in st. Michael and work in the cities

my $400 quote was actually for the a-arms to be painted due to the heat and glue issue, but to fix that I'm just going to shoot a 1/8" rivet in them to prevent them from moving during baking as mountainhorse suggested I do.

I paid $140 for 4 spindles and 4 rails (155s) to get coated black at Kappers Fabricating in Spring Valley MN... of course they were raw when they started so no need to blast any paint off... They turned out really nice. I would definately send stuff to them again.

Last year I paid $135 to have one set of rails, spindles, rear bumper brackets, running boards and a couple small tubes out of the rear suspension done. Everything was raw aluminum.

I prepped most of my parts. I payed $200 for the following...

IQR top and bottom a-arms, two Pro swing arms, Pro bumper braces, Pro seat bracket, Pro spindles, Pro running boards and a couple miscellaneous parts.

i had my front and rear bumper, bumper brackets, and seat brace on my 13 pro coated last year from pro-tec in Grand Forks, ND (some black and some white). I forget the exact amount but it was right around $100. All parts were raw aluminum. I could be wrong but i think the color plays a role in price as well, as in more parts of the same color the cheaper it is versus a few parts in multiple colors being more expensive.

I had my spindles, rails, tie rods and some small parts done for $130 at All Pro Powder coating in St.Cloud. All parts were raw aluminum and the majority of the parts were black and a few red.

Check out All Pro Powder Coating in St. Cloud. Their pricing seems to be pretty reasonable. I had some parts powder coated for work, and they did a great job.

There is a place in Little Falls that I have used twice. Can't member the name but I always paid him cash out at my car as we loaded parts. I had a bunch done and it was $100 cash- I don't know if they sand blasted or went over the top of the old stuff. The second time I did stuff for my wife's sled- there was not as much and I only paid $50. Now both times I was getting stuff done in black so they could run it with other orders. You get real customer colors the price will go up as they need to set up and tear down for that color!

I dropped some winch mount parts from my Grizz at the one in Little Falls (Prizm Powder coating) I dropped them off on Friday and the owner said they'd be done Monday afternoon. I didn't need them in a hurry so I waited until Friday to pick them up. I walked in and asked for them and got the deer in the headlights look. "Ummmm there being sandblasted right now, come back Monday."
Again, I gave them until Friday. This time the guy had no clue where they were. While he was in full panic mode on the phone with the owner I walked around the shop until I found the box with my blasted and beginning to rust parts and walked out. Not a real professional business. Based on my experience I say use caution if you use these guys. AllPro has been great for me.

I paid 185 for spindles, seat post, bumper supports vents and front bumper. Three different colours (blue, white, black) so a little more instead of getting all one colour.

ya i've heard some negative things about prizm in little falls. Looks like a lot of people have had good luck with All Pro in st. cloud and I think i'll go with them. Most of the parts will be gloss black and only a couple peices blue. I assume the pricing you guys are giving is for bringing parts in raw and you sand blasted them yourselves?
