Is it just a matter of weight or does it improve performance as well? I like how mine runs stock but if I'm missing out on something I may get a BDX/Timbersled/SLP ect. I did read a guy saying he starved his sled of air with the BDX in deep powder. Give me some insite. Thanx

if you're gonna do it, just do the bdx and be done with it. On a stock sled I don't think that it adds any power. On my sled which is bored and ported etc... my seat of the pants feeling was that it added a little more "umph" down low and in the mid. As far as starving the sled for air I could see that happening on a completely over the hood powder day. But there are vents that you put in the back of the bumper to feed air to the intake also. Not just the vents in the front of the bumper. Most guys on here say no problems with the bdx and I haven't had any yet either.

I actually tried to just gut the intake originally and let the motor just pull air through the stock vents in the hood. Whatever you do, don't do that!! I fought that setup for a season and I wish I would have just left it stock for all the hassle that gutting it did. I was always wiping snow away from the front of the sled and it was constantly tripping the air intake sensor and sending the motor into limp mode.

Like I said if your thinking about an intake, just do the bdx and be done with it. Or leave it stock.
