I have an 05 Ski-doo RT1000 162" it is actually my second one, I am considering buying a new M1000 but am not sure if the difference is big enough to justify the purchase. Any body had both or ridin with both? I am a big guy that is why the 1000. My rt runs pretty good, I have removed about 40 lbs. from it and done some small mods (can, clutching, ported track, boondocker box, egt) But I think the M1000 is lighter and is capable of a few more ponies. Any thoughts?

the M1000 is lighter, but honestly, the RT with what you have done to it isnt really worth the money to go up to the M... the RT wont run right with the M, but the cost difference isnt worth the performance upgrade IMO. i ride an RT and a guy we ride with has a modded M1000, his definately beats mine, but not by much.
My gosh..... did I just hear a Skidoo guy being converted????? You better not let your friends or other Skidoo owners hear this one.. Also admitting that the mighty M is ruling the roost! Awesome, tell me more stories of being spanked by an M.
Just joking and poking at the Doo owners, the guys that ride Doo with us usually talk more crap than I can push out after a good cup of coffee.

Actually I am a Polaris guy, I currently have 4. The Doo was a wild hair in 05 when they came out with the 1000. Haven't had the opportunity to ride with an M1000 yet so being spanked has yet to happen but probably would. Thanks for your input.

I love my RT, that said the M is a great sled too. I think its a toss up, but for the investment difference I would stay with the RT1k.
