How many running the Impulse Nytro kit?

I've been doing a lot of research into turbo design for a late summer Nytro project. Anybody running the Nytro kit that can comment, also how well is the fuel mapping and Prologger control working. Lastly, any trouble with the tank leaking?

x2 - Also wondering how the impulse compares to the Powderlite kit?

I rode Paul's Tuesday up out of Gaurdsman's pass and it ran flawlessly.

I think it is a great turbo system, I have also spoken with Dustin at Outlaw and he feels this is the most responsive system there is right now.

Paul is a great guy that will help you get it right.

If I was buying a new turbo system right now I would buy an Impulse no question.

yea i bet the out law guy would say its the most responsive kit he sells them... lol it seems like the had quite a bit of thought put into it when they designed it..

He also rides them and could sell any kit he wanted, if he so chose. Mine runs great and Paul has driven 250 miles to ride with us and make sure I was happy with his product. Great guy and a great kit. If there is anything to nitpic it would be I am not used to using the prologger. I am having to much fun riding to play with the gauge!

And they sell Boondocker and MCX.........and Randy and Dustin are stand up guys. I agree with them on the Impulse and I am dealer for a few myself. I bought the IMPULSE for my own sled and it rips all day every day, more resposnsive than all I have rode. And Paul is a great guy and has, what seems to be, neverending patience in helping guys out with questions and installs. I highly recommend Impulse. The Powderlites seem like good product too with good service.

Excellent kit. If you ever ride one or see one in action the proof is in the pudding. I watched him climb some chutes with his TNytro that had no buisness being climbed. Paul has spent A LOT of time with r&d, and actual riding in the mountains with his kit. He has spent more or as much time with real world experience on his kit then any kit out there. To me that and applying what he has learned he has one of the best kits out there. And custumer service to back it up.

We have been running a couple of IMPULSE kits up here since october, I have never insatlled or worked with turbo kits until this one, but it has been great. I have just been running 12 to 14 pounds of boost all season and it has been great. Most of the time I don't feel like messing with the boost and fuel so I just leave it at 12 lbs and ride. It is easy to adjust boost with the prologger though, with just the touch of a button.

Is there any tinkering with changing elevation or upping/lowering the boost? With my MCX, i've been all over the map with boost and elevation and never touched a thing. Seen other kits that have to change the box everytime they adjust the boost. What can I expect with the impulse and prologger? They run a pure logic too correct?

Ya they run a pl box and you have to make a change to the boost fuel when you go up or down on boost, but takes about two sec and is simple and not a bunch a messing around like people make it out to be. If you cant read a af gauge and press a couple buttons on the box, then you better stick with your mcx. You can expect the impulse turbo to be a responsive kit with little LAGGGG that pulls really hard. From what ive seen with the pro logger,it is a good unit.Adjust boost, play back runs, AF gauge ect..What more could you get in one unit? Give Paul at impulse a call or outlaw there good guys that will answer all your questions.

When I add acouple pounds of boost I usually only have to add fuel on the boost setting on the pl box and then do a run and log with the prologger. After a couple of times you can pretty much guess what settings you will need. When changing elevation there is a setting on the pl box that will pull fuel or add fuel across the whole map. I ride a lot of different elevations around Alaska also.

I have an mcx kit and I have rode Pauls sled, the throttle response is unbelievable, compared to my mcx, I like my mcx but it will never have the throttle response of the Impulse kit.

Exactly. Rode an impulse at yamafest and then got back on my mcx. Got a swift lesson in throttle response. Love my MCX, but that impulse was a different animal!

I bought one of Pauls TNytros with kit installed by him.

In reguards to the tank, when its plump full (up to the very top of the tank) and you are pulling a hill, there is a bit of a leak at the cap. After its used ~1/2 gallon it stops. I've read some guys using a different o-ring to resolve this. I don't like to over tighten the cap as the rubber will bite on the AL and get twisted up and ultimately leak worse.
I have had no other "leaking issues".

I had never seen/used a fuel controller and picked it up quickly once I was able to recognize the different color codes...and got instructions for what color codes control what parts of the map, etc.
As its been said, when you change boost on the Prologger, you only should need to change fuel for the "boost" map.

The prologger is definately a nice unit. Although it can be a bit tough to read in bright sun light...I wish there was a way to set it to "full bright" mode on engine start, instead of having to press the key combo to brighten it.

The logging is great, records 10? logs, you can then go home back to the garage and read through them all and document them even.
Sure would be slick to have a way to upload the data to a PC and create spreadsheets..but..some may find that more complicated.

Looking forward to doing a back to back ride between my Imptro and my buddies MCX Nytro and get a better feel for the difference.
And then line them up on a hill. :D
But he stopped riding when I got my new sled, what gives? ;) hah

Being my first Yamaha, and turbo...I'm very pleased with the sled, the kit, and especially the customer service from Paul.

Haha.... Where were you all season? I am curious to put them side by side to compare throttle response. See you next season.

BTW our sleds have similiar setups. 162x15x2.5 tracks and timbersled suspensions. Rotax is probably 75 lbs lighter than me

Saving for a Turbo Nytro it so happens to turn out! :)

ive run the impulse kit all year and same thing every one else has said about it on here . put an actual O ring under the stock gas cap seal and the leak is gone other than that its been an awsome kit ive cracked the first header i ran when i switched to 17 pounds from 12 . paul sent me up a new one free of charge and said the first one was a light weight design and the new one is holding up perfect !:D

Is it Impulse that uses the Rev Fuel Tank? If so any noticeable difference on weight distribution?
