well whats the consensus? I just had to buy the 3rd hat and gloves of the year yesterday and he has only been wearing them for a month 2nd pair of gloves didnt last one day he lost one of them?

so whats the answer i told him next time he loses his hat he getting a bright pink hanna montana hat to wear!

As soon as you put them on there gone:mad:....been there :rolleyes: Now I only have to think about were the he.. I left my stuff...Dino

The wife teaches elementary school and says you wouldn't believe how many hats, gloves, boots and even snow pants are in the lost and found all ready. There are 30 really nice coats there as we speak. By then end of the winter these items will number over a hundred.

And we aren't talking cheap, worn out stuff. Some are brand new, big name items. (Columbia, North Face, etc.)

I "lost" a pair mittens when I was young, once. It was a damn cold couple of weeks till my parrents "found" money to replace them. Never did lose another pair!

If you know a kid who has 2 right hands I can supply them with mittens for life.

4 year old looses them all the time. And always the same hand, I can't even give her a mismatched set:mad: Plus since all the stuff is in the same area, she's starting to loose MY hats:mad: Oh well, we got mitten clips last night...hope they help.

tell him he loses them again he doesn't get new ones and wont be able to go outside at school.. that would prpbbaly work.

This is why I won't buy my kids expensive gloves. My oldest boy lost 4 coats by the end of the first month of school last year. I tried the "lose these and the next ones will be pink" trick. It didn't work, he just didn't tell me he lost them. I bought some pretty decent gloves yesterday from Freddies. They were on sale for 6 bucks a pair. I should have bought like 6 pair.

ha ha ha. my wife went out and bought five hats and at least six pairs of gloves for our 4yr. old. i believe she's already gone through one hat and two pairs of gloves.

My kids do household chores to "earn" the money for replacement. They also have the opportunity to earn "upgrades" if they like the fancy version over the standard issue. My nine year old loves to upgrade. My five year old has taken over dog crap duty, her gloves have come home recently.

Nice:pI like that program. Make em EARN what they want. They will feel worst when they lose something that they EARNED. Take better care of what they have. Dino

For gloves/mitts, we always found tieing them together with a string through the sleeves worked like a charm.

My kids never have lost any gloves.

Wait.......

I can't have kids :beer;

My 9 month old son lost a hat in the last week, My wife blamed me. Not sure why it was my fault, but he had it on when I dropped him off at daycare and stuffed it in his sleave like I always do. My picked him up and it was gone. I say it was her fault, after all you really can't blame a 9 month old that can only say "da da"

Been there done that and still doing it. My 8 y.o. boy can't keep track of gloves or hats to save his life. He does chores to get his allowance. We bought him one hat and one pair of gloves this year, the rest WILL be bought with his allowance. He already lost one hat and of course ONE glove :rolleyes:
