how long do i have to drive my new XP before the "CHIP" burns out

I have heard the burn in is about 4 hours.
Its all a myth,
Ski-doo does this so there buyers think there power will increase at a later time and they will be able to keep up with Poo and Cat. It keeps the returns down and gives there service department a way to buy time.

You got a new sled?
I have had about every year of rev they made. You always hear stories about some mythical chip that burns out and they run way better. That is all bs. I have never noticed any of them running better. I always laugh when I here " I can't wait till she's broke in then it's really going to run." The only way it will be any different is if you put some aftermarket clutching or parts on it. That's my 2 cents on the subject.

No doubt haha, ski doo has been getting away with this for years.
no i got 800 miles on my o9 and wondering when the chip is going to burn out so i can kick some azz

this is funny my doo friends would always tell me how much faster their sled will be after the chip burns out!!!!bwhahaha I blow your doors off then!!!LOL
Should just be a few more miles then, But make sure your not on the gas when it happens or bad things can happen.
Actually I think it was at 10,000 miles it really wakes up

That's like 25% of the motor's life expectancy LOL.....be damned if I'd ever "break in" a sled for more than a tank of gas....
My 07 XRS burned in at about 1K miles and I got a new motor, still didn't run worth a sh1t.

My XRS ran the same at 1 mile as it did at 1200 when it burned down.

'03,'04,'05,'07 & '08 and all were 800's. All got warmed up well before the first mile and some got more than a mile before they got rode hard but not one of them ran any better after this so-called chip burned out.
The chip seemed like it was a mythical thing that some believed would put you off the back of the sled when it burned out and others would speak of machines flipping over backwards when climbing hills. Others still, would have someone else ride their sled for them so as to avoid the infamous chip burn out and calamaties that would surely await the unfortunate sole at the controls.
