how is the snow in the snowies

It was warm up there today. Like spring super hero snow. Steady stream running down the side of the road at green rock when loading up. Sorry no pics.

From looking at the snotell sites temps made it into the low 40's today but it also looks like little or now snow lost from the snow pack.

Must have been hardpack before the warm temps. Eric

We went up Friday afternoon and came home today. The snow was good on Saturday, it started to get a little mushy today. There was still lots of untracked snow to be found - the only other sleds we saw on Saturday were Ollie and his wife, and we put on 45-50 miles.....

not bad, never is though

Went up Fri. just got home tonight. Snow pack is still fine, however is very wind crusted. They got a bunch of snow couple weeks ago so you can still find some hidden stashes on the back side. Today we just went thru gap lakes to trail U it was ok but very windy like my post (sorry this is my first post ever, new member.)
I have been riding this area since college (1998) and i feel this year has been unusal, lot of snow but higher temps, so the days u catch the snow its lifetime but it just doesnt seem to last as long.

thanks snowcross for the real update..............the other updates must of been from the trail on the south and west sides,... u know where the sun shines all the time

Wow, Arrogant much.

What TMK didn't say was we ran into each other boondocking and then only because I heard his sled and figured he was one of the few that both knew about the area and could even get in there. I was right.

As for the snow.
It was ok.
Setting up fast. With the temps this week and no new snow, it will be go anywhere snow.

Was up there yesterday and yes it's packed down and hard in usual places. But the tree riding in the shady side of things was pretty good considering how warm it's been. We found plenty of un tracked soft stuff to carve up.

Some places werer VERY hard........others soft!

I didn't know you were headed up TMK! We missed again!!!!
