How does the Bd extreme black bow intake system do?

hey

A buddy of mine has been running one for two years, and loves it. I just finished installing mine tonight on my 09 hcr. The stock intake isn't that good, and it was nice to get rid of 8 pounds of plastic. The intake should draw in mostly cold air from the bumper vents with little or no hot air from under hood.

Just installed mine this year! Only a couple rides on it but love it so far!! Nice to lose the weight also.

I am on my second year with their airbox and really like it.The only real problem with it is when you are sidehilling on the right side in deep over the hood powder they tend to suck exhaust which can be frustrating.It always bogged out in the worst of places,like with a cliff to the left of me.
Well for this season I found a fix,I bought the Speedwerxs tunnel dump can.
I have spent a few days already this season in the deep and it has ran perfectly,should almost come from the factory with this type exhaust.I have had extensive porting done on my motor with cases and cylinders done and head clipped,but have ran with speedwerxs pipe and MBRP can.With this setup I have always had this weird little bog in the low end and have tried to adjust it with my Boondocker but could never get rid of it,but when I put on the tunnel dump it runs like I wanted it.
The whole setup now is beyond my expectations,I am very happy with Black Diamonds products,having just installed their light weight rear bumper.

I have been running mine for two years now as well and couldnt be happier with it. BDX knows how to make good stuff.

If you go with the BDX box I would suggest putting some weather stripping up front. You can see a small 1/4 crack where the hood and front bumper meet. I ran it without a couple times and it was always full of snow.

Thanks

I was wondering how it would do in deep powder, but it sounds like if there are any problems you guys know how to solve it.

Thanks again for the feedback.

Sometimes facing downhill stopped in overhood powder it can struggle for air. Remember, cats don't like water. Crossing water with an open nose cone, better keep it pinned with the nose held high:beer;

Any of you running the BDX without fuel controller on a piped sled? Thoughts? Exp?

I ran one with the SLP pipe kit last year with no problems. I have a BD box but ran it will 0's across the board at elevation and it ran fine and plugs looked fine. Seemed to get the hottest in the mid range, but that is normal.

Riding partner uses one, 06 M7 stock can/pipe.

The vents tear quickly and easily.. Easy too install, and he says he feels some bogg, but when i rode ti it ripped, so i dunno. His sled doesnt run with a can BTW but it does with this intake.
