How does the '07 Summit X compare to others?

Looking at buying a used 2007 Summit X 800, 151". Just wondering how this sled compares to previous Summits and or other brands. Any help is much appreciated.

There's been a lot of threads about the 07 summit compared to other years. However, since I pretty much just did a lot of reading on the rev's here are the summary

- Almost everyone agree that 06 summit x is the best year in terms of chasis and reliability

- The 800R motor in the 07 had some issues early in the production cycle where a lot of people blew up their motor with less than 1000mi. The replacement motors that were available early on weren't any better. Apparently if you have the motor replaced in late 08 or 09, you should be ok.

07 is the best handling Rev chassis hands down. My buddy's have 04's --> 06's and they might as well be a different brand. The 800R is a more finicky motor, but when it's running good it will out pull the HO motor everytime. If it has the original motor, you are rolling the dice a bit. Ideally find one replaced with an 08 motor they seem to be trouble free....as far sleds go.

In my honest opinion, an 07 Rev with an 08 motor is the most fun sled you can buy for the $$. Get the clutches dialed in and you will run with any stock sled on the market. Racing uphill, I have never been been drug by a stock XP...M-sled 800 or 1000, pipes, boondocker, whatever...never ran a Dragon.

X3 with whats said above. You might be better off saving a little bit of money and trying to get a good condition 05 or 06. same exact chasis just a different motor. And like said above when running right the 800R motors rip. However if its not an 08 motor or newer you'd be much better of with an 05 or 06 power tek motor and put the extra money you save into mods.

Once dialed in with a good clutch set up and 08-09 motor these sleds perform awesome,not very many stock sleds will outperform them and the 06 rev's allthough they were by far the best out of the box will not keep up to the 07 sleds:beer;

05 Summits did not have the PTEK, only 06

i disagree......my 06 will go anywhere an 07, 08, 09 or 10 will go

sorry.......!! hahah!
really though, saying that ur sled "wont keep up" sounds kinda silly

I guarantee 99% of it is rider capability

A good rider could climb higher and boondock better on an enticer better than a rookie - on any sled of their choice

time in the hills, and experience will help you to keep up - not the sled

I agree, one won't go somewhere the other won't. But if you line them up or ride both, the 800R has more snort.
