How does riding in Canada work?

I put a post up in the Canada section about riding and how to licensed but have not had a response about licensing.

Has anyone ridden in Canada before and if so, do you need to purchase a special tab, license or park permit and if so, what's the cost and where do you get them? Any riding areas near West Vancouver would also be helpful. I'm taking a couple of beginners and looking for mostly trail riding but a good combination of both trail and hill would be great.

You go to the DOL and request to get an enhanced drivers license.I think it runs around $65. GO TO THIS WEBSITE!

As for the enhanced DL this is the new Washington license that you can get and the DOL. It works like a passport but is only good for getting you into Canada. The cost it think is much cheaper than a passport. I think the new license is around $30 where a passport $100. I also believe that you can get or qualify for the enhanced licensed on the spot and can receive your new one in about a week. Check with the DOL for info verification. I may just be talking out my A!$! on this since I only have the passport and not the lic.

You bet! Definitely call ahead to determine the exact documentation requirements. I takes longer than 1 week to receive ... however it's definitely quicker than a passport.

My enhanced drivers license was cheap. I wanna say $15 since my standard license wasn't expired, I just needed to upgrade so i could cross the border and race. Not all DOL's issue them so look on the website and find one near you that does. I had mine in under 2 weeks.
