How does avy gas work?

What octane is avy? I fully understand how octane and compression works, but in my small block they tell me not to run any because of the way it is constructed for really high elevations like 15-30thousand ft. I am assumming it does not hurt the snowmobile because everybody seems to be running it.. And with 110 being $9.60 / gallon, that gets old. any special blends to run this?

Av gas works great! I know alot of people as well as my self that run 100% av in the tank! Its 103 mon Im told! Its def advised to add a splash of oil to it! I add 4 oz per 5 gals to help lubricate and for boost fuel!

Good luck!

100LL. I've run it for a long time. Your going to hear from the fuel gods that you can't or shouldn't, but I've done it for a long time in lots of different applications and always had good results. Buddy up with someone at the Airport, they have to drain around 5 gal a day off the bulk tanks to check it for water!;)

Avy and higher Octane race fuels slow the burn. Helps with deto. Gives more time for the flame to cross the top of piston before spark is lost (blown out) Many, many variables but higher octane requirements lessen with gain in elevation for n/a sleds. (Primarily speaking high areas like CO & WY) Turbo's and sleds making their own atmospheres are a diff story.

Avgas- been running for 15 years

FYI - they only drain maybe 16-20 OZ. per avgas truck per day. they sump the drains every morning before dispersing fuel.

also yes it is wise to add a little lubrication to the pistons when mixing. depending on what you got for Mods on your sled. Depends on how much octane you will need. IE. I'm running straight Avgas on my Twisted M8 at 10 psi of boost at 4-9K.

I have been told by our aircraft mechanics at work that the 100ll they get now has so many additives in it that they wouldn't run it in their tractor. Maybe they tell me this so I don't try to get any of their free stash or maybe there is something to it. I don't know.

11 gallons of 91 octane with 33oz boost juice= $68.00 per tank

11 gallons av gas-$70.00

5.5 gallons 110 with 5.5 gal of 91-$73.80

All combos are 100 oct.

I ran boost juice for 3 years and absolutely love the stuff, I
switched to the 110/91 mix this year as I am exploring higher boost levels.

Boost juice is only good to 10lbs boost, which is in all reality, plenty.

That’s a condescending statement, won’t use it a tractor be will use it in a plane? :face-icon-small-sho

Av gas is probably the most stable and reliable fuel you can use, I never had a problem and been using it for 12+ years. Ask me about VP fuels. 100 ll AV gas is 110-112 RON octane, RON is the rating use at the pumps

Any problems with the lead in Boost Juice and your air/fuel probe? Also are you getting it from Shain (Twisted)? I'm curious if it's the same thing as Octane Supreme? It'd be a nice option on trips for me.

I have replaced one A/F sensor in three years. I did get it from shain.
It is $100.00 per gallon, or you can buy it in quart cases. One very
important thing is you can't mix it with ethanol fuel. It will create a wax build up on the in tank filters. I would imagine the same applies to the other octane additives as well.

If I was not going past the 10lb. mark this year, There is no way i would run anything different. Smells awesome too. I purchased several five gallon containers and stored them for three seasons. That is what I like about
the juice also, It doesn't deteoriate over time. If stored properly
