how do you do the perfect donut?

I don't stop, I just slow down to probably 5-10 MPH. Stand on one running board, let the other one dangle off to the side on the top of the snow for balance, use the gas and your body weight to control speed, direction and the lean angle of the sled. I've tried many other ways of doing donuts and this is the only way that makes it easy for me and comes naturally.

While sitting...From a dead stop or slow you can lean hard to the inside and nail the throttle while steering to the outside and working the handlebars back and forth...when the snow builds up on your chest from basically laying on your side keep working the throttle and steering to go around as many times as you please......:D:D:D

While standing on the left side with both feet I like starting at about 25 mph then counter steer to the right to get it over. Then I keep pulling making a spiral mark in the snow (smaller and smaller). The faster you start out the more your sled slides sideways making a very wide (8 to 10 foot) path. I find it's a lot easier to do a left turn than a right turn. I try to practice right turns to get better but I still feel better doing left turns. I have had a few guys ride with me and cant get the hang of carving. I just put them on their sled in front of me and go for it. Once they feel how their sled reacts they have no problems learning it.

Well it is pretty hard to beat your donuts hotbelt. Yours are made by when you cool your belt off in the snow after each run.........by taking it off and laying it in the snow:rolleyes:

LOL. Yeah, Im just trying to picture riding into a meadow and seeing two men hunched up on a sled doing donuts! Makes me thing of Happy Gilmore where Chubbs stands behind happy and starts swaying back and forth....."its all in the hips" haha

It depends........................

What brand of sled
which chassis
what size motor
what skis
what altitude
what kind of snow
how deep
on a slope
around a tree
backpack or not
and.................................most importantly is the video camara on:p

Standing on one side with the rear foot as far back as i can with out pulling something, Stick the other foot out in the snow and crank on that thing. Show the sled whose boss using the foot in the snow to push up if you get too far over and play with the throttle to see whats best. I had to teach this to a buddy last weekend and he just wouldnt rip on the sled it just threw him around.
