How do i remove RX1 spark plugs

Hi...im am trying to figure out how to remove my spark plugs..has anyone ever done this? How the heck do you get the top/cap part off? THANX for any help!!

What allen bolt are you talking about? Mine has coils that slip over the plugs. Unplug the power wire to the coil and pull it straight up off the plug. There is a special socket type wrench in your tool kit that is made for removing the plugs.

i just looked in tool kit and there are 2 spark plug wrenches..a "normal" sled tool kit one and another long one that has 90 degree flex joint..im assuming these are what i need to use? those coil cap things seem to be on there sealed pretty good...you just pull up? use screwdriver to help pry em up? I just dont want to screw anything up ! thanx again for the help!!

The RX1's are not bolted down, they seem like it. Just wiggle, pull, they will come. Then you hit your hand on something when they break loose. The apexs are bolted down. The 03 Rx1s had issues with the type of coil, worn grooves into the spark plug, causes misses, once & ahwile, in 04 they fixed that problem.

well sorry for trying to help!!!!!!

They will be stuck in there if they have not been out in awhile. Squirt some lubricant in there to loosen them up. I reinstalled mine with a liberal coating of dielectric grease to prevent this problem from happening again.

still havent got em out..they seem to be 1 with the cam cover.gonna try the lube..thanx again for tips...i DO NOT want to have to replace any coil packs so im goin easy...
