How concerned should I be about this?

This happend at the end of last season I guess. Found it this summer. My pinky finger fits through it. I cut the flap off so I wouldn't catch on anything. You can see two of the fiberglass rods are broken. Haven't ridden my sled at all yet this year and i'm thinking I could just keep an eye on this and monitor it. What do you think? This is a CE(challenger extreme) stock track on my '07 M8. It's a 153. Of course i'm thinking about going with a PC but in my current financial situation, i'd be hard for me to afford a new CE for that matter.

I ripped a track like that a couple years ago. Didn't have the money to buy a new track so I decided to sew it. Get some high test Gorilla fishing line, the braided stuff, and an awl or a small nail. Use a propane torch to heat the nail up while holding it with a pair of vise-grips and use it melt holes in the track all along the tear on both sides at about 3/8" intervals. Then get a big sewing needle and sew it up. Be sure to tie the line after every couple stiches so that if it does start to come undone, it won't all come out. Sew it back and forth 2 or 3 times mixing up your pattern each time. When I was done I used some GOOP Marine sealant to cover up the stitching to protect and seal the thread.

I ran the track the rest of that year and most of the next until I got the money for the new track. I still keep it for back up.

If you have the money for a new track, I would definetly buy ony. But as a last resort, sewing it sure worked for me! Maybe I just got lucky, but if you only get one more ride out of it... it's still better than just sitting there thinking about riding!!!

Good luck,
Boone
