How come there is no movie release party in Puyallup?

The biggest swap meet on the west coast, most attendance I think and no movie premier on the Friday night of the big weekend? WTF:mad::beer;

Let's hear it!

Tha biggest obstacle is lack of a venue that would seat 3-400 people (or more)...the Boise premier gets this many WITHOUT the snowshow. I have no doubt we could get 500 people with some planning.

We looked into it this year and there are really only 2 good choices in Puyallup...one is owned by the city, and the other is an old theater that is privately owned.

THe city facility is booked up for a couple of years!!
The private theater requires catering, and only seats 240.

Last year, we did a friday dinner party with raffle to benefit SAWS and on less than a months notice we had almost 100 show up. BUT, that was at a restaurant that also required catering.

I would love to do this, but there are some obstacles.

modsledr and I have talked about it the past couple of years and like he said... theater space is limited. I'd love to throw a ThunderStruck Premier in Puyalup if I could find someplace that seats 400-500 people.

If someone has ideas or could do a little checking in the area get back to me... possibly we missed someplace to do it.

has anyone checked with the pierce county fair grounds or the king county fair grounds,they have to have the room??????????????

How about one of the other 20 buildings on the fairgrounds

Chris, thats a good idea. Wonder how this chain could even get started with 2 weeks til show. Is it even enough time I also wonder. What permissions have to be in place?

Any help on this from anyone? I will give a 100% on the volunteer side, just don't have any connections.

It's too late for this year...10 working days is not enough time. However, I am planning on talking to the Puyallup Fairgrounds people about space possibilities and logistics for next year...stay tuned.

Some of the other ideas have been floated around in the past...schools are out because of alcohol.

Movieplexes are out because of alcohol and they aren't set up the rent out their facility (insurance for an "event" is an issue).

Keep the ideas coming...hopefully we'll be able to make it happen next year.

In the meantime...we are having a Friday night dinner party at Mama Stortini's to officially release the 2010 Ladies Ride Calender.

It will be a good time, good people, good food...and best of all...HOT CHICKS THAT CAN RIDE!! :D :beer;
