How 'bout them MONTANA GRIZZLIES!!!!

Playing in the chipper Friday night on ESPN2 against the Richmond Spiders.

Wife gave me the green light to go to Chattanooga, and as crazy as it sounds, I'm not going.

Anyway, I'll be at some watering hole cheerin' on DA GRIZ. :beer;

EDIT: Carroll College of Helena will be going for their 5th Championship in six years (or is it 6th in 7???) in NAIA. Anyway, great program and I hope a couple MT schools bring home CHAMPIONSHIP trophies this weekend.

Those jackazzes from the East can say what they want butTWO Montana schools playing for the Natioinal Championship in their respective divisions is a statement.

This is the great thing about the playoff system. Settle it on the field. The Bowl sponsors are whining about the BCS going to a playoff system. Playoffs are better. Who wants to say "Hey, we were 'voted' to be the national champions this year. Yeah!!!"
BWAAAHHHHHHHH

I'd rather have my team say "We won the championship game!"

We have 5 NAIA schools in Montana that play football.
We have 2 Div 1 schools in Montana and both play football....(well sort of :) )

Carroll College Saints playing for the NAIA championship. I can't remember how many it is either. LOTS!!!!!!!!! IT's either 6 or 7.

Montana Grizzlies playing for their 3rd FCS (former Div I-AA) championship. Their 5th or 6th trip to the big game since 1995.

Gotta love football in the state of Montana.

I'll be hoarse on Saturday morning I'm sure but hopefully celebrating a National Championship...and to make things worse, I'll be even MORE hoarse after the wrestling tourney all day Saturday. LOL

While they haven't very done well recently, don't forget that the Cats won their 3rd FCS (formerly Div I-AA) championship in 1984...my freshman year. Point is there is and always has been some good football played in MT.

Go Griz!

I can't stand the Spiders (think Syracuse 1991....) Besides having been at that game while attending Cuse with a HS school friend who was attending U of R, I get to spend about 1/4 of the year in that ch#t hole called Richmond.

GO GRIZZ!!!!!!!!!!

Chappy, we aren't talking about pre-historic Paleolithic football here.

:D
LMAO

But thanks for the well wishes. :beer;

I'm from Boozetown and hate the cats! The griz have an amazing team this year and unlike here, they actually recruit Montana boys. Look at Chase Reynolds.

Got this in email:

Twas the week before playoffs
And all through the state,
Griz Nation was ready
We knew it’d be great!

First up Texas State and
Griz fans would not worry.
31 to 13
Skinned dem Cats in a hurry.

With a smug attitude
The Wildcats came flaunting
Our seismic North End Zone
Their players were taunting.

But once was enough
And redemption at hand
Weber got spanked
Now ain’t vengeance grand

Of the Dukes they all said
“They’re the best in the land,”
Redemption round two
Just as we planned.

Special Teams were excited
Showing grit and some gristle
Our defense ignited
And launched the Butte missile.

A pick and a swat
From a corner named Swink
On 4th down and 20
Duke’s hopes he did sink.

Bring on the Spiders ,
The Grizzlies don’t care
We’ve got Chase Reynolds
Who runs like a wild-hare

Mariani , Ferriter
Pfaler and Beaudin
Our feared air attack
Will soon be explodin’!

Now on-Quinn, now on-Horn,
And don’t forget Dow
On Hillesland, on Dyk,
Bring it O-line Kapow!

When all are covered
with a juke and twist
He carries the rock
Our mighty Cole Bergquist.

Too many great players
To name in a poem
But at Finley Stadium
All Grizzlies will roam.

Under Friday night lights
Our fans have a wish
The Grizzlies will find
Some Spiders to squish

We’re ready and willing
And can’t hardly wait
The players, the coaches
This game could be fate.

You’ve practiced, you’ve sweated,
You’ve worked the whole season
The Championship Game
Is the one single reason.

So Santa is here
To offer a toast
To the Montana Grizzlies
The team we love most.

To all of our coaches
in this season of light
Merry Grizmas to all
And to all a good Brody McKnight
