How are the 2010 Seats working out so far?

Brought my sleds inside my heated shop last night to thaw out. I went through both trunks and the 2010 seat is bone dry! My wifes Crossfire stock seat on the other hand is soaked inside!......So far the vote looks to be about 20 to 1.5 in favor of the 2010.

Really like mine. :face-icon-small-hap

I was concerned with the seat height when I was thinking about getting one as I'm 5'4". But it has been a non-issue for me, I can still slide my foot/knee over the seat without trouble (haven't been able to retrain myself to simply swing my leg behind the sit instead of over it.)

Things stay dry, haven't had trouble with any moisture in the storage area. Even though when I first sit down on it the '10 seat feels really firm, I don't notice it the rest of the day. :face-icon-small-hap Mine seems to be holding up okay and I use it for leverage on carves and so forth.

As for switching it over, the new one doesn't snap in like the older style so you would have to take off the rear bolts when you wanted to change it. Also then you would have to leave the old style rear mounts in place which would then be showing behind the '10 seat. (Not a big deal, just FYI.)

I like the updated look the seat gives and it makes my 153" look reallllly long. :face-icon-small-coo

How are the 2010 seats working out so far

Picked up a left over M1000 and planned to get the 2010 seat, but it seems a little on the short side (I like sitting far back on the seat when riding groomed trails and the back end sags down with 225 + pounds on it). An extra 4 inches or changing the angle at the back end to provide more support would help. I like the extra storage but the seat on the dragon's fits my riding style better.

Ya I've been lookin for the new seat for my sled too, I guess I waited too long to get one, Cat is all out of them and alot of the dealers are out as well in Canada and the states, anyone know who has some? Lol.

I have one on my 09 xfire and love it. Way better than POS boss seat from last year, VELCRO? please. Just my .02

PM FreeAgent, best deal by far!

The first mod to my 08 M8 after I bought it this fall was the 2010 seat. It's great. I like the height and width, I seldom sit on my sled when riding, but when I do the transition is good. No snow or water in mine on 2 trips so far. I carry a rope and you can always stuff an extra vest or light jacket in the storage to keep things from bouncing around.

I got mine at Country Cat, in Minnesota. I found it on Ebay.

I mostly love mine too, but the inverted angle makes it impossible to see into the storage area so you have just just grab blindly at stuff in there, also I want my extra gas as close to the center of the sled as possible and it then blocks the opening so I have to remove my (Ski-doo) can to access it, oh well. :face-icon-small-disI use a couple of small water proof bags to organize my stuff, way better than having loose crap in there. But 1000% better than the old POS seat, I've been on Boss's since F-cat days but can't see any reason to waste money to replace a perfectly good product. It did take some getting used to as it is pretty tall and can get slippery.

One ride, but I like the 10 seat.

Great storage space.

Not waterproof. There are drain holes in the base and I think water comes in there. Not a lot but enough to make some things damp.

I did notice the cover looked a little loose in spots. Sled has around 300 miles.

I did find my foot on the tunnel at times. Will probably adapt to that when I get more ride time.

Like the little zippered storage pouch on the zipper flap. Good place to store permits, maps, flashlight, etc. for quick access.

How does everyone find the length? I'm 6'4" and was wondering if it may be a little too short for the time I need to run the trail. Also, are they available in black on black?

Mine is all black with the little white cat symbol on it. Wanted to get one like the 2010 LE spring but had no luck.

I am 6'2" and the length is just fine. It is no shorter than a Boss. My buddy has a Boss and the top of the seat ends at the same spot.

I have my handlebars so far forward that the seat could be even shorter and it wouldn't affect me.

The 2010 seat is better for me...

Having said that, my back is not hurting when I finish my riding for the day on my new sled, with this new seat.

Loads of space underneath it, so if you do not fill it up, use a blanket to keep everything in place and from flopping around. No weight there either, so to speak.

The seat has kept everyting dry and happy.

The seat stays sticky, even when wet. I have yet to find it slippery as some others are reporting. Maybe the difference is the material of the pants folks are wearing? no clue, just a thought.

One last thing, from the first moment I started throwing myself from side to side, the lack of seat length was very apparent. So for me and my riding "style" (if anybody could call it that), the seat is one more thing Cat did right on the 2010 sleds.

So, IMHO, the 2010 seat is a good upgrade and worth the money.

I sat on a few 2010 seat today and pretended I was boondocking right in the showroom. :face-icon-small-dis

I think I like the seat. The top has that nice sticky material. I kind of wish the sides were made of the same material.

One thing I sure noticed is how nice and soft it felt compared to my 09 Boss Brick. However, I do like it as well. :fencing:
