How about the new xp weight gain

You doo get around...at least in the Doo sections.

Seem to have gained some weight in 2010, just wondering what you guy's think.

I know your not trying to stir the pot....only interested in the opinions of people that ride the most popular snowmachine. I know you just wanted to let everyone know, after this thread gets to post # 5 or 10 that the new cat is losing 10 lbs this year which may put it close to the lightest in class....and oh didn't you forget to mention the Dyno-Tech HP #'s. Wow Cat has really stepped it up, they should start to dominate the industry over the next few years.....not bashing or anything but doesn't everyone remember all the problems of the XP....yada yada yada. The year must be coming to a close because here we go with all of this can't wait till next year crap again. Get a life. If Cat strokes your belly then go play in their sandbox.

Sorry but my satalite tv is down so I just can't ignore this crap today. At least tomorrow I'll be riding some fresh POW instead of playing this "mine is bigger than your's" game.

according to our dealer--doo didnt gain any weight ,,just readjusted there dry weight instead of being so far off----we'll have to wait till fall and let the scales tell the tale:D:eek:

Readjusting their dry weight? I thought when everyone weighed these sleds out of the crate they were right on with their dry weights. T.A., tell Dustin he needs to get his butt out here and do some hunting next fall.:)

No re-adjusting the weight TA.... Talked to the Skidoo guys at Expo about it. They replaced most of the Front Suspension Bushings with Heavier Brass or Metal for the originals made of Aluminum. Extra Idler Wheel in skid, Tunnel design change to make stronger and the powder coating on the tunnel amounts for the weight gain.

Either way they are still light just not as light as they were saying. TA will find out in the fall I am sure. TA you and some of your crue updating to 2010's.

we are sticking with the 09's for the most part--i only got 900 miles with my hand injury earlier this season--if i upgrade it will be a jan-feb deal--tired of paying the premium dollars and not gettin the most out of it--looks like the everest with the 3 yr warranty is the way to go---as far as the weight , they claimed a 40+# weight loss over the rev chassis and if you look at my weight thread they nailed it to the pound--i hate dry weights--we dont ride them dry--fill um up and weigh them like we doo-----:beer;:beer;

I guess some of you took my posts personally since i have a red bar know. How does that work and what does it mean anyways. I am sorry i posted on here know, I was bored and really did want to see what your opinions of the new m8 were and find out about the new xp weight to be informed.

Loose a pound or two

I am glad I bought an '09. 25 lbs or not, I still love the ride and feel of the XP platform over the arctic cat. I guess if you want an 2010, you'll have to loose that extra weight that you are toting around everyday.:D

How are the 09 xp's for trail handeling? i dont do much trail riding, but got the chance to trade sleds with a buddy last weekend and rode his 08 xp. it was really rough in the front and on the track over the bumps. felt good to get back on my 06. like night and day for comfort in the ride.

It's tough to make a blanket comparison. My 06 X compared to my 09 X is pretty close on the trail riding side but my 06 does float smoother through the bumps but the 09 does very good. My 08 Everest is definately stiffer but that has alot to do with the non-X shocks and the stiffer seat on the 08. Your friend's sled may have had a stiffer setup. When I have my sleds setup the way I like them to handle the suspension adjustments are almost always on the softer side.
