Hot engine oil smell?

Started smelling hot oil while riding about 4500-5000 rpm down the trail back to the pickup. Stopped and checked things over couldn't see any leaking anywhere. Sled ran fine no codes. Is there a breather on the engine oil? Just wondering where I am missing the leak. The smell went away after another mile or so. Sled never showed any problems. Hadn't tipped it over or anything out of the ordinary. Am I worried for nothing I hope?

I'll check that thanks

Is it normal for a little to vent there into the filter? Sled has never been tipped over.

Something that you might want to check.

Pull your muffler out and check all the oil lines at the areas where they plumb onto the aluminum pieces. Those gear clamps can be loose right from the factory. If the oil leaked it would have leaked right near the hot muffler, hence giving you that smell.

Mine were pretty loose from the factory. Some were cooling lines though that were loose, but some were oil line clamps.
