Hot dogger

My hose clamp that holds my hot dogger on always breaks anyone else have this problem.

If you have bad harmonics on it, throw some high temp RTV on it, same concept as putting it on the springs to prevent wear and breakage.

No. He is saying to put a bead on the hose clamp to help stop the vibrations. If you put a bead on your springs (across the loops from top down) it stops them from breaking also.

Mine would either break or come loose. I put a small tack weld on the screw; never had a problem since.

Mine don't come loose it just breaks

Maybe try a wrap of fiberglass mat under it like the pipe harmonics hose clamp.

Another option, doesn't work on all setups...


Put it on the can instead of the pipe.

More consistent heat & my hose clamps never break anymore.

I like the RTV idea though... good call.

I had problems with mine coming loose all the time so i went down to the local marine supply store and got some quality s/s exhaust clamps(the ones with the t-bolt and nut) I have three on mine now , problem solved

I got a clamp that has a spring so that it will take vibration and expand for heat it has lasted 3 rides with no problems. I got it at Napa auto parts

All great thoughts ! Thank You ! Love my muff pot. But it thinks it a hot dogger and always moving around !
