hood vent??

This may be a dumb question but, I was thinking of getting the large vent for the center of the hood on my m8. From the pics of it I believe that it pretty much goes where the decal is now. My ques. is how effective would it be with the factory intake duct thingy under it? Would I be better off with some kind of guage cage to let heat out? Thanks, Clint

Here's a link to a thread for a very effective and inexpensive venting speedo bracket. 80% of the heating issues can be eliminated by getting more hot air out of the hood. You could dry your gloves with the hot air coming out of the speedometer hole with this bracket.

The center hood vent wouldn't work good with stock intake at all. Run a gauge cage, shock tower vents, and additional nose vents will do awsome for you. Tim

I was hoping that you were joking although I did start to tear up alittle. ^^^^ Nope, I'll get some type of gauge cage instead. Any new info on amp's one made out of plastic?

I'm not sure but I thought that ended up being a rumor. I thought I read that they decided not to do a plastic one. I could be wrong though.
