Sounds like I'm not the only one who had a rough day.... I just broke my hood with 30 miles on the odo, unless someone has something good I'm in for a new hood
I am a body man and I have repaired my fair share of hoods. First thing find a auto parts store that sells auto body supplys. Second pick up 3M panel bond and some mesh. Third grind and clean the area that needs to be repaired cut mesh to cover crack and apply panel bond on the underside of hood and let dry. Fourth finish off the outside of hood That it in a nut shell pretty simple.
You guys its Ok. Take it to any autobody shop and have them Plastic weld it. They also have a plastic/epoxy compound and can put it back together. The exceptions are the hoods that are totally trashed. I had a ft long crack that looked like a lightning bolt from the windshield all the way down the side of the hood and they fixed it. Was cheap too.
Wow, I didnt know anyone was going to that legnth of repair, or that you could actually plastic weld, do you sand it out or does it look like a glob of epoxy running down your hood, if so Id rather stick to the tried and true Zip Tie method.
