Hood Repair

Any great ideas to fix or rig up a better system to hold the bungie straps to the hoods? Both of the "pointed tits" on my '08 M1000 hood have broken off from my knees hitting them. Any pics would be awesome, Thanks.:beer;

Boy how do your knees feel after that? i have seen some guys putting a bolt or some other hardware above the tabs. then the hood is tighter too. sorry i dont have any pics.

At least you have a reason! The one's on my 09 are both gone already and i don't even know why! Unless i've hit them with my knees and didn't know it :)
I like the small sheet metal screw idea though. Good call on the pilot hole a lot of people might have missed that and had a real mess!

I just found some brass screw that have a round head. Screwd them directly into that niple. Works better then stock. Obviously there is a design flaw in thes pos hood latches. HOW DOES JUST THE TIP OF THE NIPLE FALL OFF. For that small problem the whole hood needs to be replaced under warranty. Mine broke off the first day i had the sled.

I just broke off the drivers side opening the hood.....wtf ?

Anyways, when the season is done I am firing up the machine shop and making a alum replacment.

I will post some pics, may make a few extra for sale
