I got a new hood and didn't get the foam kit replacement. I successfully removed the old foam and it is in pretty good shape except no adhesive on it. What is recommended for adhesive to stick the foam on? Or, what alternative option would be good for this?

Leave it out, you'll have less under hood heat . That will give you longer belt life.
3M Super 77 spray adhesive should work. Get it at a automotive supply store. Maybe a better option would be a automotive paint/body supply store. Or on the old inter-web....... probably cheaper.

What is the function of this foam. If it is to keep the hood from melting, shouldn't there be at lease some reflective tape or rubber taped down if no foam is applied? Or is it more of a noise reduction thing?
