Hey guys I know a guy who wants to trade my 2007 M1000 162" for a 2008 Yamaha Apex 153" without reverse. I would like to try the 4 stroke world but scared I am giving up a decent mountain machine for something that may be too heavy or I won't like the 4 stroke power. What's your guys thoughts?

There are many threads regarding the 2 stroke/4 stroke battle. There are diehards that go both ways... It best for you just to read until your sick of reading and then draw your own conclusion. As for my opinion having owned a 275hp m1100t and 3 boosted 2 strokes. I chose to ride the 2 strokes.
Nothing wrong with moving from the M1000 over to a 4 stroke.
But not sure the older Apex is the route you want to be going.
The Apex was seriously heavy. Fun when boosted out to an inch of its life, but still undeniably heavy without a heavy hand of aftermarket. And without reverse....ouch. Just ouch. Wouldn't go there myself!
