Honda Ridgeline

Considering buying a Honda Ridgeline Pickup. Anyone have any experience towing your sleds with one? I Just have an open two-place trailer, so I'm not looking for huge horsepower and torque numbers. Just looking for opinions and experiences from anyone who might own and tow sleds with one. TIA

The ridgeline is NOT a truck, it is built on the Odessey platform. No frame, Uni-body ect.If you are looking for a nice riding, afordable truck, find a 2000- current used 1/2 GM with 5.3 I have had many and can not say a bad thing. Way more of a truck than a ridgeline!

I already have an 05 GMC with a 5.3. It's been ok but has had a lot of electrical issues. It is the primary tow vehicle anyway and I'm keeping it. Just looking for something for the wife that gets a little better fuel economy but can still tow our LITTLE trailer if it needs to. I've done my homework on the Ridgeline. Just looking for someone with real world actual experience towing a small two place with one.

Pm Oregon700rmk. He's got one all studded up and last time I talked to him he was very happy with it. He pulls a covered two place.

5000lb towing capacity....if you can't tow a 2 place open/covered trailer with one you need a driving class. They are a very solid vehicle with excellent ride quality. Good interior space too, and the interior can be quite nice if you get a leather model. I have driven lots of them, never towed anything, but I would hook up a 2-place no questions asked.

It's one of those vehicles that most people talk smack about until they drive one, I used to be in that catagory. They are also easy to bag on because the looks take a little getting used to, but with the right accessories they can be a cool rig.

Ridgeline

The Brother-In-Law has one and tows a 22 foot camper and says it pulls real good.I didn't like the looks of it at first but after driving it and kinda liked it.

A co-worker of mine has one and we have pulled an open 14' floe trailer a few times with it. Very nice truck and plenty of power to pull a two place around. Plus they have a great ride!

I think you would be very happy with it!!

P.S. I do still give him lots of crap about it since I have a Chevy Avalanche and it looks like it's little brother.:D

Perfect for towing two sleds

I have a 2006 Ridgeline and pull an enclosed two place trailer in winter and 19' ski boat in summer, both in the 3,000 to 3,500 lb range. It does a great job pulling both, granted not as well as a full size truck, but it also rides like a car, not a truck. The transmission does a good job of holding high rpm's when needed and doesn't hunt around. The bed is shorter than a typical truck, so it's nice to have a shorter truck for maneuvering, but if you need a longer bed than consider that. The rear seat is comfortable. The vehicle stability control works well in slippery/snowy conditions, and it has 4 wheel disc brakes.

If you get one and want a shell on back, they are pricey at $2,000+, but they are also a work of art (ARE or Leer).

I didn't think I would get a Ridgeline, but do yourself a favor and test drive one. You'll either love it or hate it, turns out I bought one after the test drive.

The bad... The dealer I bought from sucked. Annoying rattles in the dash tweeter locations and my glovebox sounded like I had ball bearings clacking around. Both fixed by dealer though after multiple visits. Some debate whether their locking differential really locks, I don't think it does from the time I got stuck. Check out Ridgeline Owners Club (RLOC) website for additional info.

Good luck.

I have a buddy with one and he tows his 19 foot boat with it in the summer and takes a 2 place with 4-wheelers up to Canada hunting every year. He absolutely loves it and I must say it is nice riding. If you can handle the harassment from the guys, have at er!
