Homemade snowbunje?

I have a homemade one, I got the instructions off of Dootalk. Pretty simple really. I'll see if I can find the instructions somewhere.

Buy the largest bungee cord that Ace Hardware has. I believe 3/8"(probably 7/16" now that I look at the pic).

I think you will need about 18-20' because you will loop it thru the hook end 3 times and thru the handle end (of course) 3 times. I'd say 3 times minimum and you could try 4 and double the bungee use for hand pulling and sled-sled pulling.

I tied one knot in the middle. Just tied the loose ends together. I put an old MC innertube over the cords/knot.

For the hook, I used the hook off an old tie-down strap.

For the handle, I used a short section of strong rope and ran it thru a 4.5" piece of pvc pipe. Pipe for the handle. The rope hooked to where the bungees make their loop thru one of those chain connecting links with the threaded nut that secures it.

This is definitely a product most any of us could copy & make at home.
But I've bought a couple of the originals & will continue to do so simply out of respect for how much this invention has helped all of us as snowmobilers.

These are a "must have" for any mountain rider.

Nothing wrong with saving a few bucks & making your own, but if you're able to do so, try to support those who have helped our sport.

BTW, Looks good Dobber!
