home closing issues

sorry fosgate-i disagree with just about everything you posted. what constitutes a good deal? a product you like at a price you can afford from people you trust is what a good deal is to me. i have paid way more for a product because i want it now or i know that the service after the sale will be better from a certain company or so on. every business is in sales and every business has to make money. that's how they stay open. i get so sick and tired of people saying that they got ripped off when they bought something. why the f*ck did you buy it then? because they wanted the product more than they wanted their money. it's that simple. the people that beat up on sales professionals and try to buy everything for nothing are the same people who want everyone to bend over backwards for them when something goes wrong. i used to have a customer that purchased a new vehicle from my dealership every two years and paid full sticker every time. he knew we were making money on him but as a business owner, he knew that what it took to keep the doors open. he also did it because of the service he got. if he needed a loaner-he got it. if he wanted it picked up, delivered, fueled or whatever-he got it. and that's part of what he was paying for. there is absolutely nothing wrong with selling something and making a profit.

For example if you read and think about what "Scut Farkus" is saying it makes sense. Some people just like to hear things that don't make sense. Good points Scut Farkus. It's easy to see guys you can trust and work with. Have to be careful when all you hear is what you want to...

hmmmmmm.

I locked in a refinance 01-23-09 that has still not closed. It is scheduled to close this Friday.

There have been no issues on my end. This seems impossible but it happened to me and is actually still happening.

The banking world is really messed up right now.

Yes, this could be a case of the Loan Originator screwing up. I know no loan Originator that wants to work on a file this long especially if it was truly "locked" as they have had to extend (several times) no doubt eating up all the income they may have made? If the original estimate of costs matches the one you sign at closing (i.e. rates and fees match) I would be very surprised. There is a key detail here that is missing.... for sure. House value issue, income issue, property issue of some sort. Pastor not saying this is your fault but something really stinks here. locks are typically 10-30-45-60-75 days up to some companies that do longer terms but charge pretty hefty to do so and it's not refundable for those longer locks. WOW! weird.

Let me get this straight, you bailed on the sales industry because you were tired of the game, and you are now going to get into the health care industry (there's a good honest industry where nothing is sold for a maximum profit) and jump in-between the insured and the provider......Exactly how are you going to get paid if nobody sells anything?

Yeah, I'm back in college full time for double majors one in business and the other in health care. With insurance I have been in health care. And I don't believe that it is an honest business. Through my own personal experience I have seen how doctors and staff screw up the language and dismiss people when they have a problem trying to get insurance to pay due to their writings. I have been on the insurance companies side and have seen some of the crap they pull. My goal is to manage a clinic or director in a hospital. I want to ultimately help the patients by making sure they get the treatment everyone deserves and facilitate in proper claims procedures so the hospital gets paid and minimize the amount patients pay out of pocket. Hopefully we will see a new health care program in place by then that will help with this. I have an research essay due tomorrow afternoon. Once I get the grade back I'll post the essay here.

I would rather have that happen then what happened to me. My closing date was going to be on Oct 16, all I had to do is line insurance and wait for my loan to go threw. I called my insurance company and the said there was a claim on the house on 3/08 for contaminates 11,000 dollars worth. So I did some more research and found that her ex-husband committed suicide in the living room. I got my Ernest money back but I’m out 500 for the appraisal and 375 for the inspection. This all happened on Tuesday, It pisses me off that there is no laws about disclosing any kind of death that happened in a home.

Actually I just did some CE on this last week. There is a law if you are using a agent. The agent has to disclose to you "any items effecting value" ie, streets going in, power lines going over and the question was asked about dead bodies in home. Answer was YES. has to be disclosed. Now if I was representing a seller that doesnt mean you advertise it as the haunted dead guy suicide home either. But it does mean once you have viewed the home you should be informed of its history. You most likely have a claim here on this with the broker.

I agree with Himark on this one, the selling broker/agent has some moral and I believe legal responsibility here??? I could be wrong but, I believe Himark is correct. good luck. Not sure that a suicide would affect value in the long run? I suppose if you are spiritual?

My point earlier is being proven by the stories being listed it’s about the knowledge and efficiency of the people involved. Also, shows the uniqueness of each scenario! This is a odd one for sure.

Until the owner of the dealer sells and the new managers and owners could care less about your repeat buisness after all they did not make that money. I have a friend who buys new vehicles for his buisness alot all from the same dealer like 5 and 6 every year...And he was very loyal until he went in to get a new personal truck to find out after like 20years they sold and new managment was like sorry dude you are just like everyone else.

Customer service is just about dead...IMHO. Alot cant afford to provide it and others just dont care.

Not saying its not still out there but you pay a premium for what in my opinion should be expected.
