HOLY C#%p they ALMOST groomed it!

Went up to Goldcreek today on January 12 and it looks like they tried to groom gold Creek. The WHOOPS were about half the size and occasionally there was something that resembled corduroy on the ground. I was following a set of two tracks going in and the trail was already trash at 4 o'clock this afternoon. Between Baker and Goldcreek the groomers this year appear to be slacking

On a positive note the snow sure was nice

The DOT avalanche crew will knock the tops off the bumps so they can get their cat up the road. That is the best of the grooming at gold creek. The "grooming" we pay for consists of putting corderoy on top of the bumps and lining the road with death cookies.

I am thrilled that it is too cold for the forest service cat to put death cookies along the road. As soon as it warms up, he will.

The trees have grown so there are tops sticking up more than last year. Right now the ski area has over 100" at the top. The snow has been really dry this year from the cold. Like always more snow would be better

even though I badmouthed bad groomers last season I will put in a very positive report for them this season so far, when in the last 7 seasons have we had almost nothing but powder? so they groom it and wind happens and 2 sleds go over their grooming and looks trashed again and this is in west wash where we usually have multi layers of west wa concrete by now with good base, however by wed we might get the rain up in mts again so base can form, am I correct on this reply experts???

The snow is dryer than normal (that is true) but they should be able to flatten a road regardless. There were section of the road that had fresh corduroy marks that had not been ridden on yet but the WHOOPS were still a foot tall. Once 2-3 Sled ride over this the road is back to being trash.

Part of my point to the original post is that this is the first grooming I have personally seen at GC this season. Maybe I missed the others. Has anyone else noticed grooming up there? Anyone want to post the grooming schedule?
