OK , so I have only been out 3 times this year because when the snow first hit I wanted to let it settle so there was a base. Then went a couple times after some small storms came through. Typically we are getting storm after storm by now but I am getting nervous as it isn't happening. Have I waited myself right out of good riding? I don't care to ride set up snow and really prefer deep powder. Is there good riding out there that I am just missing and have others made the same mistake?:eek:

Help, is there good riding to be had? I'm in southwest Idaho and cannot really afford road trips to Revy so let me know.

We've been getting screwed for sure. I have only been out 6 times this year. I'm kind of a powder snob as well. Luckily the last storms hit south when up north was getting nothing, so I went to Fairfield. Now nowhere is good and I'm getting frustrated. I wonder if it is worth driving to Sumpter, OR. I've never rode over there, but it can't be that much further of a drive than McCall. Anybody know if they've been getting hit? How about drive time from Boise area to good riding over there?

same here, I only got out about 14 time this year some early stuff and it was GREAT! but now it hard and would take the risk in the baseless stuff again.

My wife and I went to Sumpter 2 weeks ago. Not worth the trip. We have friends that live there and they are suppose to get 9 t0 12 inches of snow this week. Next weekend might be good. I hope winter is not over yet!!!!!!

FOMO,

How many of those trips were good snow condition trips? Did I miss that much?

and it is hard to feel sorry for you with that many rides so far;):beer;

Anyone know about pommerelle area???

a lot of half day rides but pilots was good this year. i did take a few A arms though and was laying in a new motor to boot but some awesome stuff. going tomorrow to BV with BMWMS and CMAN (lol) along with a bunch of other bad apples.....:eek:

Yeh, heard about that trip. F-bomb and bunch are going to be up there also. Watch out for the stumps in the meadows, it needs snow there too. Don't let John do any logging :)

My experience with these types of years, is March is always good. We just might not have a late April or May this year.

This week's forecast is looking good everywhere.

Last weekend, wasn't bad at all, in my book. You just had to know where to look for powder. Little pockets of it everywhere. I've gotten to the point, that all I care about is carving all day. Could care less about hills, or concrete snow.

Two weeks ago it was hard in McCall, or at least where we rode for the day trip. Last weekend up here (North Idaho) was actually good but we decided to go higher/farther out towards Montana where nobody else had been. We usually ride this area in March/April but with lack of snow it seemed like March! We had a blast. I think you just gotta talk to enough people and go off the beaten path, sunny days help to soften the snow too!
