HM Turbo Pro RMK with Vipec ECU results

Last week we tested in Cooke city for 5 days with the Vipec on the HM turbo with outstanding results. The setup included the water to air intercooler with the aerocharger set at 6 psi boost. Once we had the kit dialed in (the second day) it ran 6 psi boost at 9500ft elevation and pulled 79 gram weights at 8500rpm with no issue at all. The throttle response, consistancy and rideability of the kit + the vipec make it an outstanding combination. The charge temps were running 39 degrees in the powder and the sled pulled like an electric car from the bottom all the way through the powerband. The spark plugs at all throttle positions showed the ignition curve and fueling were spot on ,in fact the fuel curve as we sit right now is within .35 percent of perfect. The first day we tested with straight 110 race fuel and the remaining days were with 100ll avgas. The pump gas setup will be tested this week and the results will be posted later in the week. The best thing about this setup is that we will be able to run upwards of 8-10 psi boost on the stock injectors and still remain in the safe zone on injector duty cycle. The guys wanted to run straight pump gas but the cooling effect of the avgas was working so well we rode it like that for this test run. I was just to skeptical about running pump gas because prior to this we found some moisture in the gasoline at the local stations we stopped at. The kit has been ridden by quite a few people over the course of the week and hopefully the guys will chime in a little. We had nothing but grins from all the test riders so guys all I have to report is that its here and its ready so if your looking for the edge I can get you setup to rock and roll.

Here is what you will need to be ready for a vipec:

For the stock sled you will need:
1)NGK AFX wideband 02 sensor kit

For the turbo you will need:
1)NGK AFX wideband 02 sensor kit
2)GM 3 bar map sensor with 0-5 volt range
3)Intake air temp sensor- use the one we sell -its very sensitive and works well.

These 3 items will be wired into the ecu wiring harness direct to the ecu.

This software is incredible and I will list some of the things you can do with it.

1)Calibrate TPS -takes less than 30 seconds
2) datalog any sensor on the sled -Thottle position, actual 02 reading, target 02 reading, engine speed, pipe egt sensor,Intake air temp,Engine coolant temp, voltages, and the list goes on. Easy to troubleshoot your sled!!!!
3)Calibrate Map sensor for boost-takes less than 30 seconds
4)Full ignition control
5) Full fueling control
6)ECU is roughly 2 times faster than the stock ECU
7)launch control
8)Change your limits-like RPM limit and so on
9)add inputs like a gyroscope for drag racing:face-icon-small-con or a good EBC with push to pass

Guys this is it, get on the wagon now or be left behind :present:

Im not that great with the youtube stuff so if you want to see a couple vids from Cooke my youtube name is Sledstew1. Ill add more vids later in the week.

I live in the mountains, if you want I can test for you all year. Any videos of the Pro doing the things it excels at? Sidehilling, tree riding, creek bottoms, downhill u-turns, bulldogs, etc?

Looks like it runs solid. What do you need to do if you want more boost than 8 lbs? Can it be hooked up to an existing kit with extra injectors so guys can run fuel through the reeds and cool them?
So it looks like about 2500.00 for everything plus tuning?

Yes I have more videos but the quality is bad , they do work well in all those conditions, like I said earlier its like an electric car.

Yes can run extra injectors no problem, just tell the ecu you want them on and away you go. yes about $2500 for the ecu setup with the map sensor,02 sensor and intake sensor, whos kit do you have?

Looking at some used 2011's and 12's with kits installed. It's just that the guys who are selling them say they have never been able to get them to run the way they should, but they all have the dobeck controllers.
There is no way I will have another dobeck. When we ran them on our Yamaha's you couldn't leave the parking lot without spares.

Give me a call before you pull the plug on a sled,I have some ideas for you. Point you in the right direction.

Looks and sounds good... I see you live in ND, if I were to get a pro and go with the Vipec system could I bring the sled up to you to have it tuned??

I want to see a vid at low speed without you constantly blipping the throttle. I have a feeling it stumble at low speeds and one throttle position like most turbos do.

Dont worry,no stumble to be found ,tested today at 1700ft on 9psi boost works awesome. and oh my god it flies:shocked:

Dont need to drive anywhere just call me Ill hook you up

We had a great time in Cooke City and got to ride everything from my stocker, to piped, ported and piped, and turbo charged sleds. Friday was an incredible day with tons of new snow and blue skies. Here are some videos of the different sleds and how they performed against each other. The video was shot with a Samsung cell phone so some of the zooming wasn't too steady.

HM Turbos' shop sled 8 psi on pump gas w/ turbo pipe on Crown Butte near Daisy Pass at Cooke City. This is 10,000 feet at 20ºf. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4v_j...jqKX2g&index=8

The first sled coming up (on the right) is a stocker. The second sled is HM Turbos' shop sled climbing the front side of Crown Butte near Daisy Pass in Cooke City (about a 45 degree angle). He is running 8 psi on pump gas with a turbo pipe and HM's clutching. The third sled (retro) is Andy from Canada. He is also riding HM's kit at 7 psi on pump gas. The elevation is 10,000 feet at about 20(f) degrees. It is hard to see but the damn sled almost came over backwards. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQFdn...jqKX2g&index=7

This was this past weekend on Crown Butte near Daisy Pass at Cooke City. The elevation is 10,000 feet at about 20º f. The sled has HM's kit with a turbo pipe.

This is HM's shop sled on Crown Butte near Cooke City. It is 8 psi on pump gas with a turbo pipe. The elevation is 10,000 feet @ about 20ºf. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJcMP...jqKX2g&index=5

This sled belongs to Andy Vanderburg from Alberta. He is running HM's kit @ 7 psi on pump gas with his stock pipe. This video was taken on Crown Butte near Daisy Pass just above Cooke City. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blEZa...jqKX2g&index=5

Both sled are 2013 Polaris Pros with HM pump gas kits. The black sled is 8 psi w/ a turbo pipe while the Retro is 7 psi w/ a stock pipe. This run was at 10,000 feet at about 20º f in fresh snow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfniS...jqKX2g&index=4

The first sled to go by is an HM Pump Gas @ 7 psi with the stock pipe. Second is a piped and ported HM set up with a Vipec. Third is HM's piped set up. The fourth sled is bone stock. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tr8Ci...jqKX2g&index=3

This demonstrates the difference between HM's Pump Gas @ 7 psi, a piped & ported sled, a piped sled, and one that is just completely stock. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9TAg...jqKX2g&index=2

HM Turbos Pump Gas @ 7 psi vs piped & ported vs piped vs bone stock. The first three sled are built and clutched by HM. This run took place just outside of Cooke City at 10,000 feet @ about 20ºf. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFMgA...jqKX2g&index=1

And finally, Shane and Levi sharing a desert. TOO DAMN FUNNY!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vm4zB...qKX2g&index=10

I have yet to see any video in tight trees from any turbo kit always in the open. Might as well buy a yamaha apex with 350 riding in open. I like to ride the trees and steep ravines turbo is getting more tempting but until I see some tree riding footage I am going to sit on the sideline and let some one else tune it. Then I will have one.

I am not convinced by looking at the videos, I am running with lowered compression (10,2:1) on 12 psi and my throttle responce is way much better then that..

f you want to win customers you need more driving in the videos, not just pumping the throttle around.. Long climbs, have it tuned right and take it to the woods so that you can prove that the vipec and your turbos fit to most people ;)

Is the sled on the videos with two or is it fitted with aux injectors?
Are they fitted with proper clutch setup or are you running with stock helix, springs and just heavier weights?

I would love a vipec, but then i need to see that it is better then a piggyback :)

First ride on the HM yesterday and quite pleased. Sled did what i wanted it to when i wanted it to. No vids in the tight trees but it does very well. I rode with a buddy with an almost stock 2012 RMK. Let him have a go and all he said there is no comparison and that ride was gonna cost him a few more G's. Have a vid with him on it but its not much.

Here is a short vid at low boost setting. No laughing please!!!:face-icon-small-blu
