Hit a tree, need opinions. *PICS*

2009 Polaris Assault. I Clipped a tree with the right ski. The a-arms and everything are straight. The problem is the FRONT LOWER a-arm where it bolts to the chassis. It broke a weld on the mounting tab and snapped the rivets out the bottom.

I don't see how i can get in there with a bucking bar to back up new rivets... Its all enclosed with aluminum. The welding of the tab should be easy. Could i just make a whole new part out of aluminum and weld it on instead of rivets? How do you guys think i should go about this?

That's a bit knarly! I would probably just weld the tab back together then fill weld the rivet holes, drill them and go with some good quality blind rivets. If you are concerned about the strength, you could even build a small doubler for the tab side.

X2! I agree with jcrjet. What do you fly jcrjet, CRJ I assume, SW?

same thing happened to a friend of mine. his was a bit worse though and required pretty much a whole new front end, tunnel and bulkhead as well. My $.02 is if you end up wanting to do a bulkhead swap, don't.... just goto polaris parts house or a dealer that will discount it and buy the whole set up tunnel/bulkhead right from polaris. If i remember right we got it for around $1,000 and it took me about 10 hours to do the complete swap from busted up totaled to running ready to go sled. (doesn't include the extra 6-8 hours of f around time with used bulkheads since you can't buy it separate from poo)

if you end up finding the bulkhead is bent and have to do a swap feel free to pm me with any questions. if it's not bent, just like everybody else said, weld it, rivit it, rip it

Where are you located? I have a complete tunnel and bulkhead I am trying to get rid of. It is straight, I'd dare say perfect. Motor went in it and I parted the sled.

let me know if interested.
