I'm not sure it really was a mistake. The hippo probably looked upon the dwarfs bouncing on the trampoline like we would popcorn that's popping in a skillet and simply stood by until a tasty little morsel landed in it's mouth. Hearing increased applause from the crowd, the hippo took it to be an appreciation of it's ability to catch food on the fly. The dwarf, on the other hand, who started the day with good intentions, became a circus confectionary.
When plotting one's course through life and wondering, "gee, what will I become?", choosing to be a circus dwarf may indeed have its pifalls.....however Odd they may be.
